Friday Freestyle Today, I'm just throwing out some thoughts. Do what you want with them. Why do you do what you do? Why do you talk the way you talk? Why do you act the way that you act? And this is talking about everything in your life. How you do your job. How you treat your partner? How you parent? How you talk to that barista you just got a coffee from. How you interact on cold calls. How you present yourself on a demo. How you treat the janitor crew at your place of employment. How you act at the gym. How you talk to your boss. How you talk to your direct reports. How you act when sitting in first class. How you act when sitting in the last row next to the restroom. How you talk to your waiter. How you talk to that Influencer you just booked a meeting with. I am just curious. Are you the same person? Are you consistent? Are you a chameleon? And, not in a good way. Look, I am not talking about adjusting properly, for different audiences. That is a skill. That is called reading the room. That is being smart. I am not talking about that. I am talking about those folks who you never know what you're going to get. You never know who is exactly walking into the room. You never know how they're going to treat you or speak to you. They talk completely differently to the barista they just ordered coffee FROM, than the "big time" investor they are getting coffee WITH. Everything seems like a pitch. Everything seems like a political play. Everything seems to have an ulterior motive behind it. And. It. Sucks. I just want to challenge you, on this Freestyle Friday, to NOT do that. Be authentic. Be true to yourself. Treat EVERYONE with respect, kindness, and dignity. Don't keep me guessing on which version I am getting today. Show up... The same way... Every. Single. Time. You are enough, and we all need to see the real you. You got this.

P E R S P E C T I V E This morning, I got into my car only to find someone had rummaged through my glove box and then hit the boot, nabbing my gym bag packed with boxing gear and a few other random items. Not much value for them, but pricey for me to replace. Some might call that pretty damn unlucky. Then, I got a random message from a friend: had anyone from PCYC lost a gym bag? Turns out my gear was scattered across the pavement near a panel shop in St Kilda. A community FB post shared the scene, and it was clearly my stuff. Not only did my friend let me know, but he actually went out, collected what was left, and dropped it off at the gym (I recovered most but not all of it). Some might call that pretty damn lucky. In each of these moments, I had a choice... to label it as luck, or lack thereof. I could have sunk into the once familiar ‘why me’ spiral, wailing to myself that 'this isn’t effing fair' or 'stuff like this always happens to me' and clung to the comfort of a well hosted pity party. But here’s the thing... whether we think we’re lucky or unlucky, we’re making that reality. Today, I’m grateful as f*ck, still buzzing with the idea of getting most of my gear back, and I’ve enjoyed another ah-f**king-mazing sunshiny day on my MT07 that is banging out the sweetest of tones from that new exhaust system another brilliant and generous mate helped to install for me. What’s lucky is the fact that I get to choose how I react to what life hurls my way. Over the years, I’ve learned to trust the pattern that everything I once thought was ‘unlucky’ eventually turned into something I was deeply grateful for. And honestly? I’m incredibly lucky I even have a car to get things flogged out of in the first place. Thanks Melbs for the EPIC riding weather... this pic is Dromana and it makes for a breathtaking Sunday ride!! #perspective

One of the conversations I have with racers, whether they’re riding mountain, gravel, or road bikes, is their coffee plan before their race starts. How much coffee do you have? When to drink it? How much is too much? More than that, how do you plan on brewing coffee wherever the race is at? Let’s jump into this and explore how to get the most out of your coffee experience before your race begins … (read more: https://bit.ly/3wxPqcM) #mountainbiking #mountainbiker #coffeeoutside #mobilecoffee

“Let the games begin!” ??♂? ?? ?? What events do you plan to watch?? It’s interesting to talk to people about their favorite sport to follow during the Olympics and Paralympics.? There is usually a story behind their choices.? Mom was a synchronized swimmer.? The kids ‘evented’ (an equestrian sport) for several years.? My son was on the rowing team in college.? My husband is a cyclist.? What sports will you be sure to watch, and do you have a story behind your choices? The competition and the athletes get most of the attention. Another interesting detail of the Olympic Games is the amount of food consumed by athletes, spectators, volunteers, law enforcement, firefighters, medical personnel, and other people in various roles. It is estimated that over 13 million meals will be served during this event.? We can only imagine how many refrigerated trailers it will require to deliver and serve this food.? Here at Healthy Trailer LLC, we have only one question:? Will these trailers be ‘clean and sanitary’ enough to keep all that Olympic food safe??

From Christmas Cheer to Hospital Fear Hope you all had a fantastic Christmas! Now that the big day is over, many of you are probably looking forward to enjoying those delicious leftovers on Boxing Day! But have you ever wondered how to keep your leftovers fresh and safe to eat? As a Food Scientist, I am excited to share some valuable tips on how to do so: 1.Cool it down quickly: This means to reduce the temperature of your cooked Christmas meal quickly, within a safe time frame. This helps prevent bacterial growth. Here is how to: - After cooking, let your meal rest for a short time (about 30 minutes to 1 hour) - Transfer the food to shallow, airtight containers to speed up cooling - Refrigerate or freeze the containers as soon as possible This helps cool your meal down quickly and safely, so you can enjoy your leftovers later! 2. Use airtight containers: Store leftovers in covered, airtight containers. 3. Label and date: This is especially helpful if you plan on enjoying them beyond Boxing Day (December 26). By labeling and dating your containers, you will know exactly what you have and how long it's been stored. Plus, if you have trouble remembering when you cooked something, the date will be right there on the label! 4. Reheat safely: Reheat to a minimum internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). If you notice any off or unpleasant odour, slimy or soft texture , mold or yeast , unusual colors when thawing or reheating frozen leftovers please discard immediately. By following these simple tips, you will enjoy your Christmas leftovers safely and deliciously on Boxing Day and beyond! #FoodSafety #BoxingDay #Christmas
