At CppCon 2023, I had the pleasure of advocating for a tool I use daily. AddressSanitizer instruments your C/C++ code to detect various memory errors at runtime. Other tools in the Sanitizer family find other types of issues. You should use them in your daily development and in CI.

How are trade secrets managed? A trade secret is managed by continuously working with the scope of the secret; a patent is more definitive once it has been filed but with a trade secret the scope can be changed at any stage, even after it has been documented as a trade secret. A few days after IPBC Global 2024, what lessons can we learn from this major annual event? Not much! No big announcements and few new things. Generally speaking, patent holders stick to proven practices for their licensing programs, either directly or through patent pools. Of course, it is essential for them not to do anything that could harm this source of income, but how much longer will connected object suppliers be able to continue to use the technologies covered by their patents without paying anything, or almost nothing??If standard licensing techniques are applied to this market, marketing costs are prohibitive. I have not seen or heard anything during IPBC Global 2024 that is likely to change the situation in this regard. However, solutions exist so that the countless suppliers of connected objects can easily know what they must pay, and to whom, with the certainty of paying a FRAND royalty and without going through a complex negotiation phase.
