Another major win for women’s health! Maven Clinic just raised $125M, securing a $1.7 billion valuation. They provide virtual care across the entire reproductive lifecycle, from family planning to menopause. This is the kind of innovation we need more of. Solutions driven by women, for women. In this video, I show you HOW you can follow Maven’s path and secure the funding your women’s health startup needs. _____________________ ???? Hi there, welcome! ? I'm Sarah. ?? Meet a Grace Berlin Accelerator Founder ?? ?? Frederike Kugland founder of a digital health solution in stealth mode. Frederike's startup aims to address the gender health gap and make the German healthcare system future proof. Why? Because in the next 10 years up to 20% of German OBGYNs will retire and even today women’s health is underserved due to limited resources. Her company focuses on digital and patient-centric solutions to streamline common intimate health issues, freeing up OBGYNs for complex cases. It offers women tools for managing their intimate health more independently, while also providing digital treatment solutions for OBGYNs, connecting both parties via a joint, secure, and intuitive digital infrastructure for optimal collaboration. ?? Why did she join Grace? Frederike joined Grace to meet other passionate and inspiring founders, to share the exciting but also challenging journey of founding a business, learn from each other, and, most importantly, HAVE FUN along the way! ?? Outside of the entrepreneurial world Frederike likes to: ??♀? Go bouldering to tackle her fear of heights ?? Play the Piano to clear her headspace? ?? Buy more plants than she should Do you have a question for Frederike, leave it in the comments? — The project is funded by the European Social Fund Plus with funds from the European Union and the State of Berlin. #FemaleEntrepreneurs?#WomenInBusiness?#StartupAccelerator #BusinessSupport?#WomenPowered?#FemaleEmpowerment #EntrepreneurLife?#entrepreneurshiplearning?#learninganddevelopment #StartupAccelerator

Amazing to be listed among the 10 most active early stage women's health investors by PitchBook! I was tired of women's health being an afterthought, so I started investing into startups looking to transform the industry. And as I looked deeper, I realized that women's health is so much bigger - it's also about the health of families, communities, and economies. Women's health is everyones health. But a shocking fact is that much of our medical knowledge comes from studies on men which means that we're missing crucial information about women's unique health needs. By investing into women's health, we are closing the gap in research and access to care and that has far reaching benefits across our society. Lucky to have so many inspirational founders in my orbit transforming women's health including: Jannine Versi, Alessandra Henderson, Lauren Berson Sugarman, Dr. Christy Lane, Fifi Kara, Nadya O., Laura J. McDonald, Phoebe Seoyeon Choi, Robin Berzin MD, Allison Rapaport, Kara Egan, Jade Kearney. Get to know them... then send customers and capital their way!

Two weeks ago, I put out a call to mentor early-stage women founders. The response was incredible! Meet the selected five founders building some seriously cool stuff: Arushi Raina with Praxis Spinal Cord Institute, a successful venture accelerator that has already supported 36 ventures and seen 11 products enter the markets to reach people living with Spinal Cord Injury.?The next step is scaling their Fund. Latchmi Raghunanan, Ph.D. with Maman Biomedical, making an impact on the fertility treatment experience by eliminating the need for injections during a typical treatment cycle. Mo Carrier with MyBliss, a condom brand made by women for women that within months of launching was stocked in SEPHORA, and named "Best Condom Brand in 2024" by Cosmopolitan and Men's Health magazine UK. Lorena Polovina, P.Eng, CPHD with MycoFoundry, creating high-end home decor grown with mycelium. The team (Nicholas Lin, Isobel and Joseph) are wrapping up The University of British Columbia e-incubator program next month. Rose Genele with The New Face of Inclusion, focused on inclusive leadership and the ethos: The more we invest in our leaders, the better work cultures we can create, and the better we can enable our teams to perform. Here's to the road ahead! #WomenFounders #StartupSupport #InnovationForGood #Mentorship #Entrepreneurship

An excellent article, highlighting how the underrepresentation of women in venture capital firms is adversely affecting the fundraising efforts of women's health companies addressing stigmatized conditions... This piece follows multiple founders and exectives of #womensdigitalhealth companies, as they tackle the above issue, one being Priyanka Jain, who is the Co-Founder and CEO of Evvy, a first-of-it's-kind vaginal microbiome test and care company. Priyanka speaks of the questions she was faced with when securing funding: ?What’s a yeast infection? ?Is it really that frustrating? ?Is this really a problem? Discover her approach and how she emerged successfully from the situation... ?? https://lnkd.in/eeCQS5nh

?? Flo Health Inc. has just raised $200M led by General Atlantic at a valuation of $1Billion+, making it one of just a few femtech unicorns & the first femtech unicorn in Europe ?? ?? Many women in femtech are both amazed & outraged: Flo Health Inc.'s founders are men, most of the senior leadership are men, and the managing director from General Atlantic who led the investment is…shock…also a man. ?? As Sifted pointed out last year, even in femtech, it still pays to be a male founder. ?? I support many female founders in the femtech space and see firsthand how they struggle to raise money. A quote from one of Flo Health Inc.'s co-founders in TechCrunch really hits home: “I saw the challenges women face in healthcare and realised there was a critically underserved gap in the women’s health market.” ?? Sounds familiar? It should - I've heard the same thing from countless female founders who are told their market is ‘niche’ or ‘nice to have,’ or that they need a male co-founder to be taken seriously. ?? It's not that we don't need men in women’s health - we absolutely do. We need all the smart and creative minds in femtech. But let’s face it: despite all the female founder office hours and support initiatives, money talks. And $200Million just went to an all-male founding team running a femtech company. ?? The success of Flo Health Inc. demonstrates there IS a more than enough product-market fit, the market IS big enough, there IS a strong use case, there ARE enough customers. This should hopefully help female founders as evidence to provide in their pitches. It should also help other growth investors to see that the numbers DO add up in femtech. ?? We need more female-founded startups in women’s health & more investors who believe that women can lead this market. ?? Just last week, one of my private banks offered me the chance to invest $1Million in Kindbody, a U.S.-based Femtech Unicorn with a female founder. Given this news, I’m definitely giving this deal a much closer look! ? Re-share this post to help your network if this resonated with you. ?????? Follow me Dr Fiona Pathiraja-M?ller for more posts about investing in healthtech. Let me know your thoughts below?? #femaleinvestor #femtech #femaleleadership #venturecapital

It’s been really interesting to see the debate around Flo’s record $200m funding this week ?? As a femtech company founded by men, led by men, and funded by men, it’s no surprise that the news that Flo is the first women’s health app to achieve unicorn status has raised concerns about the lack of funding received by women-led businesses. Female-founded startups account for 2% or less of VC funding - making raises such as Grace Beverley’s TALA's recent £5m round all the more important. We were at risk earlier this year of cutting out a huge number of female angel investors with the push to increase the threshold to be a HNWI - and we know that female investors are more likely to invest in female-founded companies. So what does the news from Flo represent? There’s an argument to be made that investors who see health startups such as Flo securing such a significant investment might lead to attitude shifts in the wider market.?And we need more money injected into women’s health - so if this is happening, does it really matter who is leading the charge? Is it actually a good thing for men to be engaging in women’s health? Ultimately, the news demonstrates that we still aren’t seeing enough female-founded businesses gaining investment - and that needs to change. But, anything that furthers investigation into women’s health can’t be a bad thing - right? Abbianca Nassar née Makoni wrote a great piece about the debate in UKTN I felt highlighted the debate well ??
Is male-founded Flo’s record $200m funding a win for femtech?
