A few weeks ago, Valencia (Spain), birthplace of paella, experienced devastating flash floods. A sudden surge of rainstorms hit the region with intense force, taking the life of over two hundred people and destroying hundreds of homes and businesses. We are pleased to co-sponsor this event organized by?Spain@MIT, MIT's Spanish student organization,?to raise funds for the victims of this tragedy. ??? November 26th, 6:00-9:00PM ?? Morss Hall ?? This event will feature two special guest speakers: - Pablo Jarillo-Herrero, MIT physics professor from Valencia - Ana Durán, the Consul of Spain in Boston We will come together as a community to honor the lives lost and support those in need. For a donation starting at $7, you get a delicious dinner, and the people of Valencia get support for rebuilding the community we all know and love. The cost of the entrance to the event will be donated in full to WCK, a nonprofit organization distributing food to all victims of this natural disaster and volunteers helping in the area.
