OSHA will soon approach the 1 year mark since the launch of their latest National Emphasis Program conducting targeted inspections of employers engaged in Warehousing and Distribution Operations, in addition to certain high injury rate retail establishments such as hardware stores, building material dealers, and supermarkets to name just a few. The NEP was launched after data compiled by the Bureau of Labor Statistics revealed workplace injury and illness rates to be significantly higher in the targeted industries than other establishments. Targeted inspections falling within the guidelines of this NEP will continue through 2026.
