Bid Coach ?? Helping SMEs win bids & tenders // Bid writing & development // Bid training & coaching // 15+ years of experience
SOCIAL VALUE SYNCHRONICITY ?? Nearly all tenders now include questions around social value, which aim to understand how the bidding organisation adds value to the communities in which they operate. Buyers want to work with a supplier who shares their values and which is committed to creating positive local impacts, as well as being able to deliver their project successfully. Social value can include economic, environmental and social factors and often includes a broader recognition of the impact/s that the procurement itself may have in society. SMS Group | Ship Repair | Marine Interiors | Marine Engineering | SC SQEP is evidencing their commitment to social value through a variety of projects, and I'm delighted to be supporting their initiative to engage with, and upskill, their local supply chain. My Bid Skills Workshops will help specialist suppliers and contractors bid for work with SMS Group, and support their delivery of a significant pipeline of works at Devonport Dockyard, for Babcock. My workshops will include content on how bidders can demonstrate social value in their bids for SMS Group, creating some lovely synchronicity around this project. ?? Please DM me to register your interest in attending the SMS Bid Skills workshops. #bidwriting #bidskills #socialvalue #plymouth #devon #tenders
As part of our WMPP framework within HMNB Devonport led by Dave Chaffers, Ben Rowe, Paul Downer and Marc (Jooles) Andrew we’re pleased to support numerous #SocialValue initiatives. To include (but not limited to) grassroots rugby, a bid writing workshop - to be hosted by Naomi Fox-Smith, and mock interviews at Ivybridge Community College. #community #engagement #SMS.

I have stood on top of the mountain and shouted this several times but it continues to fall on deaf ears.. In the realm of soccer, one intriguing trend cannot be overlooked - the emergence of exceptional players hailing from poverty-stricken backgrounds. The question arises: why does this pattern persist? The psychology behind it is rather straightforward. Discomfort and destitution instill an unwavering determination in individuals, propelling them to utilize their talent as a means of escape. A prime example of this extraordinary phenomenon is Victor Osihmen, who began his journey as a humble water boy on the streets of Lagos but rose to become the recipient of the prestigious Top African Player Award. The correlation between poverty and soccer prowess is not merely coincidental. Living in adverse conditions often fosters a resilient spirit and an insatiable hunger for success. These aspiring athletes refuse to succumb to the hardships that surround them; instead, they channel their energy into mastering the beautiful game. Soccer becomes a beacon of hope, an avenue through which they can transcend their circumstances and embrace the prospect of a brighter future. Victor Osihmen is a prime embodiment of this narrative. From his early years as a water boy, Osihmen's passion for soccer burned fiercely. Recognizing the transformative power within the sport, he resolved to harness his skills and pave his way to success. With relentless dedication and rigorous training, he honed his abilities and ascended to remarkable heights, ultimately clinching the Top African Player Award. His humble beginnings have propelled him to become an inspiration for aspiring athletes across the continent and beyond. Beyond the anecdotal evidence, there is a growing body of research that underscores the connection between poverty and sporting aptitude. Adversity molds one's character, igniting an intrinsic drive to overcome obstacles and find solace in the realm of sports. In impoverished communities, soccer assumes the role of a unifying force, transcending social and economic barriers. It acts as a catalyst for change, empowering individuals to break free from the chains of poverty and seize opportunities previously unattainable. For policymakers and INVESTORS providing opportunities for skill development, access to resources, and mentorship, the shackles of poverty can be broken, and untapped talent can blossom into something extraordinary. It is essential to recognize the immense reservoir of potential residing within these communities and foster an environment that nurtures and cultivates it. The best soccer players do not merely emerge from poverty-stricken environments by chance. Their journey is a testament to their unyielding spirit, their unwavering determination, and the transformative power of the beautiful game. By embracing this reality, we can open doors to a brighter future ,paving the way for a more inclusive and prosperous society.
"Recognizing the need for an alternative to the expensive, up-or-out model that has dominated the culture, the Maryland State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA) created a playbook on how to get and keep more underrepresented children playing sports. Seventeen Title I, or high poverty, elementary schools in Maryland now offer a free, eight-week afterschool program, engaging more than 900 children. The MSYSA program is called Let’s Play!, made possible with the help of innovative partnerships, funding from government that aims to improve the mental health and educational achievement of students, and incentives to recruit coaches from the community. "The?Maryland Sports Commission?made Let’s Play! part of its... 2026 World Cup bid and has continued its financial support." Learn more about the Let's Play! Legacy Initiative from MSYSA in this article from The Aspen Institute: #MDSportsTourism https://lnkd.in/ei-anSYD

An absolute pleasure. The conversion was rich in solutions rather than a perspective of reactions. Often we look to mitigate the impact of society on our young people. Rather than looking to remove any barriers that they may face. It was great to get back to the core, with a group of individuals who which to use sport, not only as a mechanism for a professional avenue, but more to draw away the skills that sport teaches us. Having played full time football and part time in non-league. Even being lucky enough to move onto the Conference. All whilst running a business. Sport has taught me the following: - hard work is not negotiable, - just because you like something it doesn’t make the grind any easier, - resilience is a must in any walk of life, - team work is essential to build morale and culture, - you must be willing to pick others up around you where they need a helping hand. These are the same principles that I have applied to life and here at Bouncing Statistics whilst I wish for young people to learn these vital skills and values also.
Brilliant meeting Rackeem Reid yesterday discussing all things young people, the challenges they face and the power that sport has to level the playing field, and to hear about their brilliant work Bouncing Statistics. Really thought-provoking conversation about being evidence-based in our approach and authentic in our direction as we look to put plans in place for our upcoming football and education programme Birmingham United for the 24/25 season. Looking forward to working together to positively impact the lives of young people in our city.

Should Lee Carsley and his England scouts cover non-league football instead of Category 3 academies? ?? ?? In March, there were more players selected for England U20 and U21 who spent time in the non-leagues / grassroots between the ages of 15-18 than players who were at Cat 3 academies during the same period. Players like Martial Godo (Margate) Alex Scott (Guernsey), Ronnie Edwards (Barnet), Sam Tickle (Pilkington), and Jaden Philogene (Pro-Direct Academy) developed outside the Cat 1-3 system but quickly established themselves as the best in the country within their age groups. The numbers don't lie: more players with non-league experience have earned call-ups to our national youth squads than all the scholars from Cat 3 academies combined... What's the takeaway? This isn't merely about a few overlooked players slipping through the net. It begs the question: Is there a systematic problem here, or, are the non-leagues a gold mine of emerging talent? #NLG

Integrity, transparency, accountability, and good governance matter. And they should matter most when children are involved. When the cover up is worse than the crime, the truth needs to come out. And when adults collude to circumvent the rules, falsely blame the innocent, and fail in the provision of safe, fair, and inclusive sporting environments. Then the adults must be held to account. A recent court ruling in North Carolina has allowed public high school athletes to profit from their name, image, and likeness (NIL). This decision applies to athletes in public schools across the state, giving them the ability to earn money through endorsements, sponsorships, and other NIL-related deals. The ruling aligns with trends in college athletics, where NIL deals have become a common practice. North Carolina now joins other states that have already permitted high school athletes to take advantage of NIL opportunities. This change introduces a new dynamic to high school sports, impacting both student-athletes and schools as they navigate this evolving landscape. #NIL #HighSchoolSports #NorthCarolina #StudentAthletes #PublicSchools #HighSchoolAthletics #SportsLaw #NILDeals #YouthAthletics
