By all means celebrate, have fun with friends and family but take time to remember why you have your freedom. A few tips of etiquette for the upcoming weekend, if I may: 1: Please do not wish me or my fellow Veterans a "Happy Memorial Day". 2: Avoid thanking a Veteran for their service this weekend. Our time is the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. We woke up this morning. The last Monday in May is set aside for those who did not. 3: When you plan your family time to celebrate Memorial Day do some research. Independence Day is a day to celebrate. Memorial Day is a day of Remembrance. 4: Plan your travels to include visiting a cemetery or a Memorial. Take your children. 5: If you see a Veteran weeping on Memorial Day, do not try to comfort them by telling them you feel their pain. You do not. 6: If you see tears in a Veteran's eyes on any day, don't assume they are sad. Sometimes we become so full of Patriotic pride that it spills over and runs down our cheeks. It comes moreso with the accumulation of reveilles. 7: Savor the time spent with family and friends. Have a safe holiday weekend. And, by all means, enjoy that hotdog in honor of those that made this day possible! And teach your children, because not all the schools do. Remember our fallen....God Bless America Cryoeeze22 Inc 501(c)3 Inc 501(c)3 #memorialdayweekend #cryoeeze22 #veterans #22aday

Remembrance Day 11th November 2024 Embracing the Colours of Unity Remembrance Day, marked by the iconic red poppy, is a time to honour the courage and sacrifice of our veterans. However, it's also a moment to remember the diversity of those who served and recognise the shared humanity that unites us all. The red poppy, a powerful symbol of Remembrance Day, represents the sacrifices made by our veterans. As we reflect on its significance, let us also acknowledge the importance of other coloured poppies that represent the diversity of those who have contributed to peace. The white poppy symbolises peace and a commitment to a world free from violence and conflict. It reminds us that war's impact crosses borders and affects people of all backgrounds. Let us remember the civilian casualties and the suffering inflicted on communities worldwide. The black poppy, created in 2010, honours the contributions and sacrifices of Black, African, and Caribbean communities, often overlooked in the annals of war. By recognising the Black veterans who fought with honour and valour, we honour our diverse society and shared commitment to peace. The purple poppy symbolises remembrance for the countless animals who served alongside our human heroes, displaying loyalty and bravery on the battlefield. Their sacrifices highlight the interconnectedness of all living beings and our shared responsibility to protect the world around us. As we remember veterans from all origins and heritages, we take bold steps to strive for a future where loss of life and displacement are not defining features. We seek a future marked by unity, understanding, and the collective determination to ensure the sacrifices of the past build a more inclusive, harmonious, and peaceful world. This Remembrance Day, let us wear these various coloured poppies with pride, recognising their diversity mirrors the richness of our shared history and the promise of a better future. In one resounding voice, we honour those who served and dedicate ourselves to the pursuit of a world defined by unity, acceptance, and lasting peace. * #RemembranceDay * #PoppyDay * #LestWeForget * #VeteransDay * #DiversityInRemembrance * #PeaceAndUnity * #BlackHistoryMonth

Where’s Claire Memorial Day Weekend?:Celebrating the Service of Those Who Have Fallen with Those Are Still With Us Douglas MacArthur’s insight that those who serve in the military desire peace more than the rest of us rings true, especially on days like this one. It is they after all, he said, who must pay the greatest penalty. I’m surrounded by veterans, as they celebrate the service of fallen brethren and tackle the often daunting “penalties” visited upon those who survive the battlefield. Rather than rattle off statistics for us to get lost in, I’ll ask a few questions for our joint consideration: Should ANY PERSON who serves or served in the military ever confront the trauma of not having the food needed to thrive? Or…should any one of them, struggle with untreated (though treatable) medical, mental or emotional health challenges? Or…should even one of them ever feel alone? My answers for veterans and for all of us is a resounding NO! As is consistently the case with hunger, it exists with veterans alongside other barriers. I count my company today as heroes— not only because of what they did on the battlefield, but for how they bravely fight what, according to some here, is a far more difficult battle—returning home. Due, in large part, to the vision and support of #DanStarks, veterans have a platform here with which to learn from and lean on each other. Their shared experiences are being leveraged in powerful—groundbreaking even—ways. Governor #MarkGordon is here, as are the First Lady’s fingerprints (#JennieGordon), and #TimSheppard (#WyomingHungerInitiative) and #RachelBailey(#FoodBankofWyoming). If you’d like to know my precise location in this beautiful state, take a look at the video below. #WheresClaire #HonorService #feedingamerica #MakeHungerHistory

?? Introducing the Coin of Resilience: A Symbol of Strength, Brotherhood, and Healing ?? In the midst of my own unseen battles, where storms only I could feel raged on, I leaned on symbols that reminded me I wasn’t fighting alone. These inspirations led to the birth of the Coin of Resilience. More than mere metal, it serves as a lifeline. One side features an Octopus supporting a Spartan helmet, symbolizing unbreakable brotherhood during the toughest times. The flip side is adorned with the Kraken, embodying resilience under extreme pressures. For veterans, first responders, or individuals facing trauma and challenges, this coin serves as a daily reassurance: you are not alone. Beyond personal support, all proceeds for each purchase go to The Heroes Journey , led by retired Green Beret Scott Mann. Through initiatives like LAST OUT: Elegy of a Green Beret , Scott empowers veterans and families to voice their stories and embark on healing journeys. I am deeply inspired by Scott's commitment to uniting veterans and civilians. This coin not only offers strength but also backs a cause that aids those fighting their own battles in finding solace in their narratives. Please go to www.coinofresilience.com to secure a coin. By doing so, you can provide someone with a tangible symbol to navigate tough times and be part of a larger movement. Remember, no battle is too heavy when fought together. Together, we heal. #CoinOfResilience | #TogetherWeFight | #MentalResilience | #VeteransSupport | #SupportOurHeroes | #PTSDawareness | #HealingTogether | #TheHerosJourney

???? Honoring Veterans Day ???? Today, we recognize and honor the brave men and women who have served our nation, defending freedom and safeguarding our values. Their sacrifices are immeasurable, and their dedication has shaped our country. Yet, many of our veterans face unique challenges long after their service, including infertility—a hidden but profound struggle. Over 13% of veterans and active-duty families are impacted by infertility, often due to service-related injuries, stress, and other conditions. Unfortunately, many do not have access to comprehensive fertility coverage, which leaves them with added financial and emotional burdens. As an Advocate for RESOLVE.org, I help fight for fertility benefits for our armed service members each year. This Veterans Day, let’s not only honor our heroes but also advocate for the support they need in building families. Ensuring fertility coverage for our veterans is a step toward true appreciation and support. ??? #VeteransDay #HonorOurHeroes #FertilityCoverage #SupportOurVeterans #FamilyBuildingForAll www.mcdbe.com

VA Expands Veterans Legacy Memorial The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has expanded its Veterans Legacy Memorial (VLM) platform, now allowing living veterans to document and share their life stories. Originally created to honor deceased veterans, the VLM has grown into the largest repository of veteran memories and service records. This new feature enables veterans to upload personal narratives, photos, and memorabilia, contributing to the historical record for future generations. Veterans can access this new feature through the “Your Story, Your Legacy” page on the VLM website at www.vlm.cem.va.gov. Since its launch in 2019, the platform has collected over 165,000 submissions, and now encourages veterans to share their own stories. Content will be moderated by the National Cemetery Administration (NCA) to ensure compliance with VLM guidelines. Acting Under Secretary for Memorial Affairs Ronald Walters emphasized the significance of this update, noting that it allows veterans to preserve their stories for posterity. The VLM now serves not only as a memorial for the deceased but as a living archive where veterans can document their service, achievements, and personal reflections. For more information or assistance, veterans can visit the Veterans Legacy Memorial website or use the VA’s chatbot at www.va.gov to navigate available benefits and services. This expansion reflects the VA’s commitment to honoring veterans in a personal and lasting way, ensuring their stories are preserved for future generations. Read more @ bit.ly/4hgrPj6

This whole week through Monday is tough for me. For probably ALL Veterans and Active Service Members. Memorial Day is next Monday. A day to remember and Honor those who have fallen. Usually while in service.. However, I include those who fell to the war at home among my list of those to Honor. Have lost too many over the years due to combat, training and vehicle accidents, self harm and others. I have an Ancestor Altar I have set up in my home for those who are my (and the hubby's) Ancestors. I also set up an altar for those who I Honor who were not family by blood. At this altar, I Honor those my hubby and I served with (we are both Retired Army), I also Honor those whom I help in their Journey onward as a Death Doula, I include those that Friends and Clients ask me to include as well. How do You Honor those you have lost? Do you have an Altar? What do you usually include on your Altars? I made a graphic to show a few items that are really common. There are No Wrong answers, and every practice is different and Valid! Some may add in a picture or item from the person. Share your ideas in the comments if you like. I love helping others expand their practice or get comfy in talking about stuff like this. Awareness is a great thing. So Much Love and Support, Niki #ancestoraltars #honoringthefallen #honoringancestors #altars #witch #honoringthedead #spiritual #magic #magick #learningmagick #lifecoach #acceptance #awareness #love #sharethehope #veteranowned #techwitchlair #techwitchniki
