Earlier this week we announced that in 2025 & 2026, the State Fair will undertake a highly impactful investment, totaling an estimated $22 million, in the historic Lee & Rose Warner Coliseum, the first significant update in the building’s almost 75-year history. This iconic structure is the centerpiece of youth and open-class livestock and horse exhibitions and dozens of year-round events. To fund extensive capital improvements and maintenance work and address rising operational costs after not increasing ticket prices in 2024, the State Fair is set to implement a $2 admission ticket increase in each category for the 2025 fair starting Jan. 27, 2025. From now through Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025, pre-fair discount admission tickets are on sale at the 2024 price of $15. These tickets are available at bit.ly/msf-tix and are valid any day of the fair and for any age. Learn more at mnstatefair.org/updates

Climate crops team members Dragana Miladinovi?, Ana Marjanovi? Jeromela, Sandra Cvejic attended?"Conference on raising awareness and strengthening enforcement of plant breeders rights in the Western Balkans" yesterday in Belgrade. This event was supported by Netherlands Agricultural Network and Naktuinbouw. It provided us insights into the significance of a harmonized PBR system. A full legislative framework for the proper functioning of the PBR system was discussed with participants who exchanged their best practices. Conference covered topics like benefits of plant variety protection implementation, DUS examination, and experiences of the private sector in the region. We're excited to apply this knowledge to our work and contribute to the protection of plant breeders' rights in the region. We extend our gratitude for inspiring lectures and organization of this event to Yolanda Huerta, Dirk Theobald, Mila Mirkovic, Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Serbia.

I Was Wrong 2 years ago, when I first started analyzing thoroughbred pedigrees in international markets, I thought it was all about finding the most successful families. Wow, was I wrong. Here's what I've learned since: Lesson 1: Local Adaptations Matter Pedigrees that excel in one region might not perform well in another due to differences in racing surfaces, climate and training styles. Local adaptability is key. Lesson 2: Diverse Genetic Pools Create Opportunities Expanding into international markets has shown me the value of integrating diverse genetic traits, which can enhance robustness and performance potential beyond traditional pedigrees. Lesson 3: Cultural Insights are Crucial Understanding the cultural nuances of breeding and racing in different countries can significantly influence breeding choices and strategies. What works as a strategy in one market may not resonate in another due to differing industry practices and preferences. Just goes to show: you can't possibly know until you start.

? ??? Marlene Addes, the coordinator of EUnetHorse European project and the national facilitator for France ???? shares important insights about the advancement of the project: The week of May 21 to 24 ??, the 15 European partners (universities, research centers, agricultural chambers, breeders associations, technical institutes, etc.), farmers, experts and stakeholders from the 9 countries involved in the project met together for the second European workshop to pool the solutions identified at national level ????. Solutions were grouped and accordingly codified within previously identified 9 priority needs ????.?? ? These numerous solutions will then be sorted in the coming weeks by the project partners: same solutions identified in different partner countries will be grouped together and a preselection will be made depending on their availability ??????. The second phase of the project is thus approaching its end, which will take place in June after the final match making between the needs and the solutions ??.? ? ?? The next step will be the evaluation of the solutions. The solutions with the highest level of technological and scientific maturity ???? (i.e. those that are ready to be implemented on farms) will be evaluated starting at the end of the year. Those enabling farms to become more resilient and efficient across the three thematic areas (socio-economics ??, equine well-being and health ????, and environmental sustainability ??) of the project will only be selected.? Project funded by the European Commission ????. #eunethorse #improvingresilienceofequinefarms Institut fran?ais du cheval et de l'équitation - IFCE l Acta les instituts techniques agricoles l Mont-le-Soie l Natural Resources Institute Finland / Luonnonvarakeskus l University of Helsinki l Justus Liebig University Giessen l Polish Horse Breeders Association l Institute of Human Genetics, Polish Academy of Sciences l FeedInov CoLab l Centro Tecnolóxico da Carne l UPV/EHU l Fundatia ADEPT Transilvania l Landwirtschaftskammer Niedersachsen l WBF-Agroscope I Chambre régionale d'Agriculture Grand Est

Last week Kingman Ag was able to test its driverless tractor solution in olives.?Thanks to Jim Lipman, Lizandro Magana, Logan Chapman, and California Olive Ranch for the invitation to work in your fields. The solution worked flawlessly, and we are confident in offering services and solutions to olive growers throughout California’s Central Valley.?In the video, we are utilizing Azcal Management Co's John Deere 5090GN tractor retrofitted with Kingman Ag’s driverless solution and pulling a mower owned by California Olive Ranch.?The tractor was a little undersized for the mower but Kingman Ag can retrofit any sized orchard or vineyard tractor for field operations.?It is always exciting to work with a new crop! *In case anyone was concerned, we measured the tractor, which was dead center in the row.?The Olive trees grow a little differently on one side than the other due to the orientation of the row and its relation to the sun. https://lnkd.in/g6hT4n9F #precisionag #agtechnolgy #agrobotics #aginnovation
