The momentum towards widespread adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) continues to grow, overcoming ongoing challenges. It's clear: Electric vehicles and charging stations have a symbiotic relationship – as more charging infrastructure becomes available, EV adoption increases, and the growing presence of EVs in turn accelerates the deployment of additional charging stations. From January 1st, Americans buying eligible new electric cars can immediately benefit from the federal electric vehicle tax credit—up to $7,500 off new EVs and $4,000 off used models at participating dealerships—making electric vehicles more accessible and simplifying the buying process. https://lnkd.in/gkZ7KiBf #ElecVulum #HobbsandCo #electricvehicles #evcharger #evcharging #infrastructure

J.D. Power found that 81% of Volkswagen EV buyers chose their vehicle due in part to the federal EV tax credit. (JAMES LIPMAN/VOLKSWAGEN) I contend the same thing goes for the majority of the OEMs. Which is why I would also contend is the reason most OEMs are backing off their EV development and production.

Electric vehicle fee for registration: Texas: $200 North Carolina: $180 Should DMV’s charge extra for electric vehicles? Before you answer, consider this. EV’s are now 8% of new cars. DMV uses gas tax as the way to fund the highway fund to fix roads. EV’s use the roads but do not pay for maintenance. Revenue across the United States for fixing roads is flat or lower over the past 10 years. Although usage is up. This trend will accelerate, leaving less and less money to fix roads. Is the tax the right size? In Nevada I spend $0.23 a gallon for state only tax. I use about a tank or 20 gallons a week. So around 1000 gallons a year. That would equal $223 in state tax. Pretty close to what they are asking. Let me know your opinion. Maybe there’s a better way? This is coming to your state. If you’ve been on the fence about diving into the electric vehicle market, now might be the perfect time to take the plunge. ???? Thanks to a combination of federal tax credits and manufacturer incentives, leasing a new EV can significantly reduce your overall costs. ?? For example, certain Chevrolet leases with GM Financial are now eligible for a Clean Vehicle Federal Tax Credit, reducing total lease payments by $7,500 or more. However, these savings are applied through a manufacturer residual enhancement and not as an individual tax credit, so it’s crucial to understand how these incentives work and whether they suit your financial situation. ?? Wow! It's official. Federal EV subsidies are gone. Quebec's subsidization of electric vehicles will soon follow suit. Meanwhile, Canada's federal EV mandate is soon to be repealed. South of the border, America's $7,500 consumer EV subsidies will be eliminated almost as soon as Trump is inaugurated. And, as soon as he can, The Donald assuredly try to eliminate California's waiver to create its own EV mandate. In less than a few month, electric vehicles will go from being largely mandated and every EV purchase subsidized to no cash offered to consumers along with the loss of Canada's mandate (and possibly that of the California). It's a radical change. How do automakers react? How do consumers? And exactly what does the future hold for electric cars, charging infrastructure and tailpipe emissions? For the answer to all those questions, join Driving into the Future's State of the Industry 2025 panel of expert on Wednesday January 22 at 11:00 ET. Register for FREE:

?? Trump’s EV Tax Credit Threat Spurs Year-End Car Sales Surge U.S. car sales for 2024 are projected to reach 15.9 million, boosted by a fourth-quarter rush fueled by President-elect Trump’s threats to end the $7,500 EV tax credit. EV sales surged 12%, setting a record 1.3 million for the year, with GM doubling EV deliveries and Ford seeing a 16% jump. While lower interest rates and incentives drove overall car sales higher, the EV momentum may stall in 2025 with expected policy changes. Automakers like Hyundai and Ford are pivoting toward hybrids, aiming to balance affordability and demand amid shifting regulations. #CarSales #EVMarket #TrumpPolicy #AutoIndustry #ElectricVehicles
