Quite Frankly - The progress to get USA to where Jim has brought (since 2009) US on domestic “separation” of HREE’s today! …. In the length of time he has, is just short of monumental ! From the purchase of the once profitable Pea Ridge ~ Missouri iron mine, & Jim’s discoveries of the previous owners ~ old bankers boxes filing system, with some interesting data revealing geological formations about, something called “rare earths” and these were mostly unearthed deposits on site. YET-Fortunes can come with additional hurdles, even a mother lode of problems, ????enter Thorium, being a major component present in past iron mining tailings, and since it is radioactive and classified as a source material (even though not fissile , but only fertile) by the NRC so, NOW- Jim was prevented from doing anything with respect to moving forward with Hree mining /separation to help the US and domestic corporations restart permanent magnet manufacturing to compete with China’s monopoly. Happy Fifth Day of Rock Mass: Not All Fractures Are Created Equal: Why Fracture Intensity Can Be a Misleading Flow Indicator When it comes to characterizing fractured reservoirs, much emphasis is placed on understanding the distribution of fracture intensity. While this metric may serve as a reasonable average measure of fracture pore volume, it often falls short as a predictor of flow. Why does this happen? The key challenge lies in the fact that fracture intensity at the well is merely a count of fractures. This is precisely why an image log intensity, on its own, struggles to predict flow behavior accurately. When we scale our analysis as a function of fracture aperture, a different picture emerges. We begin to observe a sparser network of fractures, that correlates far more closely with the actual inflow dynamics you see on Production Logging Tool (PLT) logs. In essence, it's a reminder that in the complex world of fractured reservoirs, it's not just about counting fractures; it's about understanding their varying characteristics and how they influence fluid flow.
