Our co-founder, Emily Ana Levy, will speak today at the?Association for Vascular Access Annual Scientific Conference?in Denver. Her presentation, “Beyond Socks and Plastic Wrap: Optimizing PICC Care with Garment and Waterproof Covers”, is based on insights from over 2,500 qualitative and quantitative data points submitted by patients and clinicians. Despite advancements in vascular access, many patients and clinicians continue to rely on outdated methods such as socks and plastic wrap. Emily's session will cover: ? The challenges in catheter securement ?The benefits of garment-based solutions and waterproof covers ?Strategies to improve patient outcomes and infection prevention As a former patient who once used a cut sock for her own PICC, Emily is passionate about advocating for more effective and innovative solutions. Join her at the session today at 4:45 PM MST (6:45?PM EST), and make sure to say hi if you are going as well!?

My first interaction with patient transport came as a kid — when I’d stay up late waiting for my parents, both doctors, to come home from a long day of cases. They’d often get stuck at the hospital hours longer than intended because patients weren’t being delivered to procedure rooms on time, slowing down highly important (and costly) operations. Today, patient transport accounts for thousands of hours of delays in a hospital, resulting in losses of millions of dollars and a worse patient experience. What we’ve been working on at Juxta over the past few months makes patient transport a strength of a hospital — not a weakness. We cut delays during transport in half and enable higher throughput at profit centers across a facility. As a data science guy, I get even more excited about the analytics we can provide, powered by our proprietary, ML-powered geospatial technology: infection sourcing, predictive transporter placement, and estimated return times, to name a few. Check out the demo video below, and a huge shoutout to the team for all their work over the past few months! Hasan Aybars Ari Nader Rahhal Duru Hüseyni Ryan L.
Here’s a look at what we’ve been working on at Juxta over the past few months! We save 250-bed hospitals 75,000 minutes per month and unlock millions of dollars in revenue for hospitals by increasing throughout in major profit centers. Our advanced analytics enable first-of-its-kind insights, like infection sourcing, estimated return times, predictive transporter placement, and more! Learn more or book a demo today at usejuxta.org!

+1100 e-Posters were sent in for the EWMA 2024 Conference. At the conference, 4 e-Poster winners were chosen. This week we share the work of: ?? Masline C. ??????????: Nurturing skin health through simplified Incontinence Associated Dermatitis (IAD) care. About her research, she says: “Stepping into the field of infection prevention and control initially sparked from my deep interest in improving patient care quality. My journey led me to focus on Incontinence Associated Dermatitis, a prevalent yet often under-addressed issue in clinical settings. This research isn’t just about preventing discomfort; it’s about transforming our approach to skincare in vulnerable populations, making preventative care accessible and simple. It’s crucial to share these findings engagingly because, at the end of the day, healthcare is about real people. When we make our research relatable and understandable, it reaches more hearts and minds, paving the way for practical changes that benefit patients directly.” _____________ Does sharing your research sound interesting? Abstract submission for #EWMA2025 begins in August.? Stay tuned!? _____________ More about the e-Poster prizes: All e-Posters are evaluated and awarded the prize after the criteria of being? ??Visually appealing? ??Well laid out in a logical manner? ??Relevant and interesting content? ??Has clear conclusions? The poster prizes are designed to reward the considerable work that goes into preparing an e-Poster for presentation at the conference. Learn more at ?? https://lnkd.in/dc_ZxsiQ

A randomized trial involving over 4,500 participants compared the use of surgical masks for two weeks in public places versus controls without masks. The study, published in BMJ between 10 February 2023 and 27 April 2023, 4575 participants (60.9% women, average age 51) were studied. In the group using face masks, 8.9% reported respiratory symptoms, compared to 12.2% in the control group. The face mask intervention showed a 29% reduction in risk, but it did not significantly impact self-reported or registered COVID-19 infection rates.s. What do you think is more crucial in hospitals? Air purifiers that reduce healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) even if they increase operational costs, or those that are more affordable but less effective? In hospitals, controlling the spread of hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) is a top priority. While some air purifiers are more affordable, they may not offer the same level of pathogen reduction as more advanced systems. Investing in air purification technology that promotes a cleaner and safer environment can support better patient outcomes and reduce the risk of HAIs. Although this may increase operational costs, the potential for improved health and reduced infection rates can lead to significant long-term benefits. Choosing air purifiers that foster a healthier hospital environment can be a crucial step in enhancing patient care.?
