This Women’s History Month, we’re celebrating the outstanding women leadership of the Michigan Infrastructure Council who are shaping the future of our state’s infrastructure. Their leadership and expertise in asset management, transportation and water systems ensure that Michigan’s infrastructure investments are strategic, sustainable and built to last. Palencia Mobley, P.E. serves as the chair of the Michigan Infrastructure Council and CEO of Mode Collective. Palencia brings extensive experience in water infrastructure, capital planning and asset management. As former Deputy Director and Chief Engineer of the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department, she led initiatives that expanded green stormwater infrastructure investments and launched Detroit’s full lead service line replacement program. Erin Kuhn is the Executive Director of the West Michigan Shoreline Regional Development Commission. Erin has spent 25 years advancing economic development, environmental planning and transportation initiatives across West Michigan. Erin served as the former president of the MICHIGAN ASSOCIATION OF REGIONS. She has played a key role in strengthening regional collaboration and supporting local government infrastructure projects. Kathleen Lomako has over 40 years of experience in infrastructure planning. Kathleen is the retired Executive Director of Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG), where she led multi-community initiatives on transportation, water quality, land use and economic development. She continues to contribute to Michigan’s infrastructure through her service on MIC and other statewide boards.
