Will you join over 50 others who have signed up to become a mentor? You are invited to be a part of the Carpe Diem Career Professional Mentoring program! Bay Path University has partnered again with Mentor Collective to match online or traditional junior and senior students with alumni mentors like you, who have been in their shoes and know first-hand what it’s like in the workforce today. Here’s how Mentor Collective at Bay Path University works: Time Commitment: We recommend that you connect with your mentee(s) at least once per month via text/ phone or email. Matching Process: Students complete a survey about themselves and their backgrounds. Mentor Collective matches students and mentors based on what the student says is most important to them. Mentees will begin signing up: Once you are matched with a mentee, you will both decide how you want to connect, which can happen via email, phone, videochat, text, or in-person. Katapult X: Taking Risks and Reaping Rewards: Our Mentoring Journey with Birmingham City University Taking a #risk and stepping out of your comfort zone can be daunting. Nobody wants to fail, but as we all know, valuable lessons often come from things not going as planned. It's natural to feel uncomfortable and let self-doubt creep in, but there is also much to gain. When we decided to pilot our mentoring program with Birmingham City University, we felt those emotions. However, we knew it was something we had to try, as the potential benefits for the #students could be significant. I'm thrilled to share some feedback from Ellie Galvin, who manages the mentoring programs at Birmingham City University: "...From my perspective, the Katapult X stream is once of the most successful pilots we have run in terms of student recruitment and completion. Mentors have also been fantastically communicative which has helped with early non-engagement... ...We ran a “thank you” event for students who had taken part in all streams of the programme, and I had 3 mentees come up to me to say how rewarding the programme was and how much the Katapult X mentors had inspired them and helped them improve their prospects when looking for work... Yes, we have learned a lot, but I can proudly say it was a risk worth taking. Big thanks to Ellie for running the programe but also to all our mentors and mentees! #mentorship #development #careers

#MentorshipMonday Mentorship is an invaluable tool that shapes our personal and professional lives in significant ways. While the lessons shared by mentors may not always resonate immediately, their profound impact becomes evident over time. Through guidance and shared experiences, mentors help to illuminate paths that may have otherwise remained obscured. They provide not just knowledge, but the wisdom to apply that knowledge effectively. Indeed, the power of mentorship lies in its ability to transform lives, fostering growth, resilience, and success. Years later, the true value of a mentor's lesson often crystallizes, revealing the depth and foresight of their guidance. This is the essence of mentorship: planting seeds of wisdom that will bloom with time, ultimately leading to profound personal and professional development.

Inspired by last week's conference, I am excited to share that I've signed up to be a mentor for RISE Professionals! Over the years, I've had the privilege of mentoring many individuals, from college students to young professionals. Here are a few reasons why mentoring is so rewarding: Giving Back: Mentoring is a powerful way to give back to the community. It’s fulfilling to know that your experiences can positively impact someone else's career trajectory and life. Expanding Your Network: Mentoring helps diversify and enrich your professional network. Maintaining a diverse network enhances its value and strength. Reverse Mentoring: It’s not just about teaching; I learn so much from my mentees too. They keep me updated on the latest trends and fresh perspectives, helping me stay relevant. Role Modeling: Mentoring is a powerful way to influence the next generation positively. My daughter has observed my role as a mentor over the years and as a college student, she herself mentors high school students. Looking forward to continuing this journey and making a difference!
