As I celebrate another year today, I reflect on one of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned, both personally and professionally. The path to true success is simple: love what you do and do it with people you love. This mindset not only drives satisfaction but also fuels sustained progress in everything we pursue. When we are passionate about your work, challenges become opportunities. That enthusiasm fosters a sense of purpose and resilience, which leads to greater satisfaction and fulfillment. Working alongside people you respect and enjoy being around magnifies this effect. Strong, trusted relationships create an environment where collaboration, creativity, and support thrive. Gratitude is another key part of this season—whether it’s for the support of family and friends, the colleagues who made this year successful, or the quiet strength that got us through challenges. I recently celebrated my 37th birthday with a long weekend getaway, surrounded by four of my closest childhood friends. As I reflected on the past year—both personally and professionally—here are my top three takeaways from my 36th year and 3rd year as a business owner: 1. You Can’t Do It All (And That’s OK): When I first launched Elevate, I had a clear vision of how I wanted to grow the business, but I quickly realized I couldn’t carry every task on my own shoulders. Learning to delegate wasn’t just an option—it became a necessity. Trusting others with key responsibilities has been a game-changer. 2. Build a Team You Trust: This year reinforced the importance of surrounding yourself with the right people. I’ve worked hard to cultivate a team that I not only trust but who truly believes in our mission. With the right support in place, even when I’m taking a break for some much-needed R&R, I know Elevate is in good hands. 3. Celebrate Your Wins (Big and Small): Whether it’s taking a step back to reflect on how far you’ve come or simply enjoying a weekend off with friends, it’s crucial to celebrate yourself and your achievements. This year, I’ve learned that self-care and celebration are just as important as hard work. As we kick off the new year, let’s take a moment to set a new tone—one that’s about more than just work. Yes, I want to be productive, accomplish goals, and achieve great things. But I also want to make sure I’m having fun, finding joy in what I do, and sharing that joy with others. Here’s what I plan to do, and I hope you’ll join me: Share the joy. When things are going well, I’ll celebrate with others and invite them to share in those moments. Let’s build each other up and make our successes something we can all enjoy together. Find balance. I’ll work hard, but I’ll also make time for fun and gratitude. Let’s look for joy in our work, relationships, and the little things that make life meaningful. Help others. I’ll keep my eyes open for ways to make someone’s life better, whether through a kind word, a helping hand, or simply being there to listen. Small actions can have a big impact. This year, let’s come together—not just to work and achieve, but to celebrate, support, and lift each other up.
