The Best Flat Sheet Materials for Heavy Industrial Applications Looking for high-quality flat sheets for your applications but you’re not sure where to start? Here are several options to explore: ? High-strength sintered metal sheets: These are formed by pressing and sintering metal powders at high temperatures. They offer excellent durability, high wear resistance, and can withstand extreme temperatures. ? Ceramic-metallic composites: These combine the high-temperature resistance of ceramics with the good wear properties of metals. They offer excellent heat dissipation and resistance to fade. ? Cast iron: A traditional and cost-effective option for some heavy-duty applications. Cast iron offers good braking power and wear resistance, but may not perform as well in high-heat scenarios. ? Aramid fiber composites: Aramid fibers like Kevlar offer exceptional strength and can handle high temperatures. You can use them with other materials for added wear resistance. Ready to elevate your industrial operations? Contact us today for high-quality flat sheets that deliver unmatched performance and reliability! #Industrialbraking #Flatsheets

You are loosing money with grinding. (And here is how) Few years back a customer was asking if we can do abrasive belt for him. He showed a picture of the belt. It was a used narrow belt that looked really coarse. After looking closely i recognized the grain. It was agglomerate. I knew that something is wrong. I phoned the guy and after short introduction i asked what are they using these belts for. He goes, well we use them for general grinding of stainless steel, deburring, grinding welds. I told him, we can do these same belts but that he doesn’t want that. Unless you enjoy wasting money. Let me explain. Agglomerate is meant to be used for finer grinding, for surface conditioning. Its made up from small grains which are lumped together into bigger granules, agglomerate will actually get destroyed fast because the sharp edges of sheet metal damage those granules. It is not meant for that job. Here is better option i said to that customer. Let us make you a 3 belts of zirconia and 3 belts of ceramics and you try with those. Zirconia and ceramics are robust grains designed for long life and they also self sharpen. He agreed to try them. After some time i gave him another call. I asked how are the new belts. Now he was upset. He was regretting that he was using the wrong product for so long before someone told him the truth. He is still ordering the same zirconia belts today. What materials do you use for general grinding?

Sheet metal guillotine's have been proving extremely popular recently and being the curious chaps we are, we thought we'd see why. A fair few phone calls later and this is what our market research found: ?? Increased Precision - Many were finding the need for higher levels of quality. Ensuring their guillotines offer enhanced cutting accuracy means every piece meets exact specifications and passes quality control without a hitch. ?? Higher Efficiency - Good news for UK sheet metal fabricators, they were busy! This meant the need for guillotines that could keep up with demand. Speed and ease of use were key, significantly boosting productivity. ?? Reduced Material Waste - Be it for the back pocket of the planet, with precise cuts, there’s less material waste, which can lead to significant cost savings. Who wouldn't like that? ?? Adaptability - To remain competitive businesses are diversifying. This means staying agile with regards to what they can make. Having a guillotine that can handle a variety of materials and thicknesses provides this greater flexibility in project types. These factors not only improved our customers operational capabilities but also give them long-term benefits by enhancing overall efficiency and reducing costs. If you’re looking to understand how a guillotine could benefit your business, get in touch. We'd be happy to help you asses the investment. ?? https://lnkd.in/efw8Wu8K #SheetMetalFabrication #Guillotines #ManufacturingEfficiency #PressAndShear

Sheet metal processing
Experience the future of sheet metal processing: Rüdiger K?nig, the insider, gives an insight into the new product range BECHEM Form E. ?? Do you know a forming oil that combine performance and component cleanliness? And then also perform with these values? ?? Up to 100 % evaporation rate Up to 6.0 mm sheet thickness 1.8 -10 mm2/s viscosity (kin. viscosity Stabinger @ 20 °C) < 0.50 % residue on component ? The answer: BECHEM Form E Perfectly adjustable: output, evaporation, residue. ?? Talk to Rüdiger at the EuroBLECH in Hanover from October 22 to 25. He will answer all your questions about sheet metal processing on booth 12 A 42. ?? Find out why the #BECHEM Form E series is the solution for many applications: It adapts to the desired objective and the secondary process steps with individually adjustable evaporation rates and performance levels. And many more. Product advantages? Performance level? Evaporation behavior? See more at our website: https://lnkd.in/e7umBq26 #yellowdrums #lubrication #sheetmetal #machinery

How Do I Determine the Right Size for a Compaction Press? In the world of manufacturing—especially with powdered metal or ceramics—choosing the right compaction press size is essential. It's not only about getting the job done but ensuring efficiency and maintaining high product quality. But how do you know what size press you need? It boils down to three key factors: 1?? Desired Density and Part Size The density you aim for and the size of your part largely determine the tonnage. Generally, higher density and larger parts require more tonnage. But it’s not always a straightforward calculation, especially with complex geometries. 2?? Material Compressibility Different materials respond differently to pressure, which impacts the density you can achieve. A compressibility curve—often available from your powder supplier—can help you see how pressure and density relate, guiding you toward the right force to meet your target. Below is an publicly available example for powdered metal. 3?? Pressing Method The choice between uniaxial and isostatic pressing makes a difference. Uniaxial pressing applies force in one direction and works well for parts with lower aspect ratios that need higher force. Isostatic pressing, which applies pressure evenly from all angles, is better for longer parts. Here’s a general approach to figuring out the tonnage you need: - Set your target density and size. - Pick your pressing method—uniaxial or isostatic. - Use compressibility data to calculate tonnage (surface area measurements help here). - Add a margin of safety to ensure consistency in production. Have questions? I can help—or can connect you with experts who can provide even more insights! #powderedmetal #manufacturing #compaction
