Akshay Patel shared good reasons on why GenAI struggling in production. https://lnkd.in/dbynynQU In our experience, the ,main reason for the struggle is DATA. yes we have seen GenAI solving cool content problems which are actually creating content fatigue. Real business decisions need good data. Data is generated as a result of complex human interactions and stored as graphs and tables, patterns, evolution and chaos which is very hard to be clean and never good at the first place. the API's are not used as intended, additional fields, custom tables, tables used for different purposes. The semantic intelligence layer is missing most of the times. As a result, we at DataGOL are going the Small-Data route, use case by use case, creating islands of good data and enabling data culture and data education to flow through through this supply chain of data. We believe this to be the path for AI transformation that many businesses are looking for and need.

Leadership announces a company wide GenAI strategy and everyone in the company builds a chatbot. This may be okay for some companies but if your business is not chat then think about long term management and maintenance. 2. There is no GenAI strategy. Why, Why now, What metric are we chasing, and What are we not going to do. Fueling experimentation with direction is key. 3. Not evaluating Buy, Build, Partner strategy. Get rapid consumption of GenAI in your organization by buying subscription services to create hands on experience of what works and doesn’t. If you have a specific use case buy 2-3 competing solutions so that you can compare. Build to experiment and learn but be clear on point 2. Without thinking twice, find partners who have talent to augment your team. 4. Lack of fundamentals. Always work backward from what you are building for customers. It’s either to improve value of existing offer, introducing new features with GenAI capability, or completely reimagining future experiences. 5. The current tech stack has tech-debt and modern technology adoption is a struggl. A simple clue is asking how robust is Identity and Security in your tech stack. 6. Lack of evaluating who in your existing customer base is most likely to pay for additional value you create for them. You have to go back to grass roots and think like a startup founder seeking truth for product market fit. Keep it simple, find 1 customer who will tell 10 others. In a recent interview Satya Nadella said that SaaS is dead. Corporate SaaS based products will inevitably be replaced by AI Agents working on top of frameworks that provide the same functionality but with much higher Flexibility and of course a better interface than we are used to for these products. What seems interesting, is that in another round table discussion by Y-Combinator founders (one of the largest startup incubator in the world), they discussed how the next 300 unicorns are going to be SaaS replacements by Agentic companies. SaaS products have already become these behemoth systems that need to connect with other such products to provide a semblance of digital connectivity across corporates. With Agents, we will see the backend get reduced to "resources" - Data, content, compute, contracts, notifications, people etc. the logic, workflows and decisions will be left to the AI. Agents will truly democratize automation. Everyone will be able to build Agents that do the work based on their individual styles not unlike how they make their own documents and PowerPoint presentations. SaaS needs to change and embrace Agents, to get into a better afterlife.
