How to decide if you should add that "really important feature" in your product: ? It'll make you proud ? All the competitors have it so you should have it as well ? You "really really" wanna have it in your product ? "Because it's AI" Instead: ? It solves your or end-users' pain point ? It saves you or your customers money ? It makes you or your customers money ? It improves/speeds up a process that needs to be improved Simple checklist that can save a lot of founders time & money. #startups #saas #ai #software #developers #founder #technology

the 2 main reasons for start-ups' very high failure rate, is that problems are very seldom attacked with domain expertise and this delusion, that this has never been done before. tech bros believe that they can code their way out of a problem. that works for SaaS cos., but seldom elsewhere. real disruption starts with customer needs and then attacking the gap between that and incumbent product functionalities. you can disrupt any thing you want, as long as you dont know what you’re disrupting and what the outcome would be. just introducing some more automation to an established process isnt disruption. ps : self-publishing platforms arent new. #ai #aipublishing #twosidedplatform #startup #techbros

?The faster, easier, and more affordable it is to iterate, the quicker success follows. Every 'not so right' iteration is actually a step closer to finding the right solution. Here are some of the design iterations I did for a startup (Excited to share more work soon! ??) While these designs didn’t make it to the final cut, they surely laid the foundation for the winning design. ???? ''Don't chase trends, chase problems''. This insight from Sam Altman, co-founder of OpenAI, is crucial for founders. Focus on one urgent problem for a specific audience and build a solution that solves it better than your competitors. ?? In a world full of distractions, being obsessed with one big idea is already a challenge. But remember, flexibility is key. That's why you should always consider feedback as you might be focusing on the wrong problem. And I would add that, instead of being afraid that someone will steal your ideas: share it. Not only will you get feedback from potential customers, but you don't take any risk as an idea, without clear execution, remains only an idea. At WGMI Labs, we help founders start their SAAS projects by validating their ideas and offering expert guidance. This is free and super valuable if you are ready to take action. ?? I am glad all #founders and VC’s have their focus on Enterprise #SaaS and AI. It just gives founders like me enough leverage to focus on building AI for SMB's, solve real problems for them and worry less about competition created by capital infusion. #venturecapital #founders #startups #marketing #product

This is consistent with what I have heard from a few VCs. Technical advances in AI over the last two years since ChatGPT came out, have been really amazing. However, companies are struggling to make use of AI in a way where there are noticeable differences in their bottom lines, or significant improvements in their products. So there seems to be a growing demand for companies offering full solutions than just tools.
Software-as-a-service (SaaS) is quickly being become service-as-a-software. And Sequoia thinks this is creating a $10 Trillion market opportunity (the software market is currently ~$1T). But this next-gen doesn't look like old-school SaaS: 1?? Services are a feature, not a bug. In fact, they might start with services & humans-in-the-loop before writing a single line of code. 2?? They own hyper-specific workflows rather than trying to be an "all-in-one platform" that sits on the shelf. This wedge unlocks the ability to take on more over time. 3?? They're selling "work", not access to software. 4?? Pricing is connected to results, not user seats or big $$ commits. This becomes a threat to ARR as we've previously known it. 5?? The competition is services firms or FTEs, not other SaaS products. One of these breakthrough startups is Chargeflow, founded by Ariel Chen and Avia Chen. They've grown like a weed since being founded in 2022 -- reaching 15,000+ customers & recovering $100s of millions in chargeback revenue on autopilot. Oh, and they've got a true success-based pricing model, charging 25% of whatever $$ they recover. In today's Growth Unhinged: inside Chargeflow's growth & the anatomy of building a breakthrough service-as-a-software biz: https://lnkd.in/ebQpVwXv Can't wait to hear what y'all think. #ai #startup #serviceasasoftware
