Underfloor Heating Zones & Circuits.... what's the difference ? The main difference between UFH zones and circuits is that?a zone is a room or area that's controlled, while a circuit is a loop of pipework that heats a specific area. For example, a single zone, controlled by a single thermostat, can have a number of circuits. Question... in the example below are 5 rooms being supplied by a 6 port manifold. In the Design, how many circuits are shown.... 1, 3, 5, 6 or 12 ?

How we helped our client: a short case study where we explain everything step by step. ?? The client needed a special solution to combine our backlighting with light-diffusing material (opal) to ensure that both elements are stable, as the products on display were to be placed directly on the backlighting. ?? Another factor was the structure to encase the backlighting - all the five panels had to be connected to the same power supply. This involved preparing the power supply installation so that the wires were routed out in the right places. ?? We therefore opted for Opal, sized to match the panel, and joined along all the edges with reflective tape. As a result, we could customise the design in many respects. ?? First and foremost, there is no need to use glue to connect the backlight and the diffusing material (it can cause discolouration of the PMMA material and non-uniform refraction of light.)? ?? In addition, thanks to the tested manufacturing standards, we were able to adapt the cable routing at the most optimal location in terms of connection to the 6-pin mini AMP socket. Thus, the entire installation connected the panels to a single power supply, while allowing for easy installation, structural stability and an aesthetic result that the client wanted. ????? #CrystalPanel #CrystalPanelLED #visibility #illumination #ledtechnology

Building Envelope Consultant Recommends Custom Fit IMPs - Protean Construction Products has promoted custom fit IMPs as a more economical and sustainable alternative to ACM panels. This stance has been viewed with skepticism by some in the industry.?Protean put that skepticism to the test seeking a Third-party endorsement. ? NCLOSE, a building envelope consultancy based in Portland, OR performed independent research and published a Technical Recommendation for Insulated Metal Panels (IMP) vs. Aluminum Composite Material. The research included building code compliance, subcontractor cost estimates and sustainability factors. ? The Technical Recommendation concludes Custom-fit IMP should be considered to leverage less layers (furring and exterior insulation) in comparison to an “ACM with an exterior insulation / furring” assembly. Custom-fit IMPs can offer a higher R-value per inch, saving space which may make the building slightly smaller or potentially allow more usable space.?IMPs offer a faster construction schedule due to a lower number of layers, and also provide for lower fire hazard and higher recycling potential.?
