Today marks International Women's Day. ?? A day where we celebrate women's achievements. At Fly, we are passionate about providing women with a safe space, where their dreams and ambitions are closer than they once believed.?We are not just a brand; we're a community where female fighters are seen, heard, and respected. We're committed to making the world of combat sports a welcoming and empowering space for all women. Women's sports have come a long way over the years. Evolving from being insignificant and overlooked to becoming a thriving industry with many role models and influential athletes being ‘household names’. There is still more we can do in helping to reshape the social attitudes towards gender inequality in sports. Challenges for women in the industry are still rife. In recent years we have seen more headlines around the topic of “The first women to..”. However female athletes continue to demonstrate strength, resilience and determination, helping to inspire the next generation. Here's to us ??

Business should reflect on this at exec level

The participation of an #equal number of men and women in the #Olympics marks a significant milestone in the history of the Games and the broader movement for gender equality in sports. This achievement is the culmination of many years of effort and advocacy aimed at ensuring equal opportunities for female athletes. Historically, women faced significant barriers to participation in the Olympics. When the modern Olympic Games began in 1896, women were not allowed to compete. It wasn't until the 1900 Paris Olympics that women were permitted to participate, and even then, only in a limited number of sports. Over the decades, the inclusion of women in the Olympics has steadily increased. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has implemented numerous reforms to promote #genderequality, including the introduction of more women's events and the push for gender parity in athlete participation. The Tokyo 2020 Olympics, held in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, were the first to achieve near gender parity, with female athletes making up 48.8% of participants. Reaching a point where there is an equal number of male and female athletes is a reflection of broader #societalchnges and the growing recognition of women's #achievements in sports.
