?? Missed last week's LFE 2024 Masterclass training session? We've got you covered! ?? Register to watch the recording and explore POSITIVE PRODUCTS + SCALE JUMPING with Carlo Battisti & Dimitra Theochari In the first half of last week's session, Carlo introduced us to the need for and solution of Declare and the Living Building Challenge. Presented with though provoking questions like, "are all manufacturers polluters?" and "can positive products truly exist?" we explored the precautionary principle and the value of transparency. Carlo introduced the ILFI Red List of toxic and harmful materials and then presented us with the Living Product Challenge's concept of hand-printing and how it differs from concepts like the carbon footprint. In the second module, Dimitra took us around the world with case studies of innovative rainwater management projects, urban hanging gardens, micro-wetlands, river restoration projects, tiny-forests, and much more. Her talk culminated with her latest fascinating project where the 2000 year old Hadrian aqueduct is being brought back to life as part of Athen's climate resilience and heat reduction plan. The main take away: Small projects aren't always transferable linearly to large scale projects, but small solutions replicated strategically can create big change. ??
