https://lnkd.in/erjAk3VN I learned about the NAM Climate Communities Network (CCN) today. The CCN brings together community leaders (“Members”) who work for community-based organizations in U.S. communities that are disproportionately impacted by climate change and climate-related health inequities. The CCN will elevate community expertise, experience, and efforts to address the structural drivers of climate-related health inequities in Member communities. Alongside CCN Strategic Partners, who will be invited representatives from government, philanthropy, academia, and industry, CCN Members will influence and work across the Climate Grand Challenge to catalyze innovation, inform policy, drive funding, and co-design solutions. Thanks to the UPR professors Jenniffer Abreu and Maria del Carmen Zorrilla, who shared this resource and are collaborating with this initiative.

The Climate and Equity Lab is a collaborative initiative by York University’s Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change, Gore Mutual Foundation (Gore Mutual Insurance) and Social Innovation Canada aimed at understanding how climate change impacts vulnerable groups in Canadian urban areas. Recently, the Lab published a report featuring a systematic review of municipal policies addressing housing disparities and climate vulnerabilities for low-income renters, homeowners, and unhoused individuals in Toronto, Vancouver, and Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge.
