Your business is measured through financial targets, goals and initiatives. It is however your people the ones that will develop these tactics that will facilitate your sucess. And, when it comes about how you integrate your staff, we have too much to do to make our workplaces more diverse, equal and inclusive to everyone, everywhere. And your people are very aware of where you sit in landscape. I've been at Jellyfish for over 10 years now, and I've always been conscious we have been at the forefront on this space. BUT, inside me, I know it isn't enough. We still have disparities, and many things we continously miss (or are bias), so we clearly need to do more. And, why not, share it with the world. I am proud to share our first DEI report, led by our estimated colleagues Chris Mariel and Luisa Monteiro Furlan. It's a testament to our commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement. You can access it here??. https://lnkd.in/eGWiW8Xn #dei #diversity #equity #inclusion

1 Day to go until Chinese New Year! How will you be celebrating? ?? As Chinese New Year approaches, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the values of renewal, connection, and community. As a manager, what better way to show your team that you understand and appreciate their diverse backgrounds than by celebrating with a meaningful gesture? ???? Our Limited Edition Cherry and Dark Chocolate Macaroons are the perfect way to do just that. Not only are they a delicious treat, but they also allow you to highlight your commitment to EDI. By choosing to gift these macaroons to your team, you're showing them that you value their cultures, backgrounds, and the rich diversity that makes your team stronger. At Miss Macaroon, we are incredibly proud of the diverse and inclusive workforce that helps us create high-quality macaroons with a purpose. Our team is built on fostering growth, success, and a culture of inclusivity, and we are equally passionate about our MacsMAD (Macaroons Make A Difference) Programme, which provides tailored training and employment opportunities to young people facing significant barriers, such as care leavers, young offenders, and those dealing with mental health challenges. When you offer these macaroons to your team, you're not just giving a gift—you’re also supporting both our dedicated, diverse employees and the positive impact we’re creating through the MacsMAD Programme. Talk about scale and success? Here's a fact we all 'know:' more diverse teams perform better. Yet, women, especially women of color (a term I’m not fond of), are still lifting extra weight, running extra miles, and showing extra gratitude for less-than. So, what we actually might know is that we need more self-awareness, willingness to reflect on our own biases, open doors, and help build better tables where everyone can contribute. As Makhtar Diop, Managing Director at the International Monetary Fund, said Friday: 'gender issues are not issues of women, like race discrimination is not an issue of Black people.' So, for starters, I really like Lilly Singh's pointers: don't weaponize gratitude, invest in potential, and make space for women (plural).
“If you're trying to be inclusive, don't give someone new a seat made of straw until they prove they deserve a better one … Give them a seat that they can thrive in, that they can do the job you hired them to do in. Allow them to contribute to the table — and they will make it better.” Watch Lilly Singh’s full talk here: https://t.ted.com/sLDLQp0

So true - Inclusion isn’t about inviting people to the table—it’s about reimagining the table itself. I recently came across this TED Talk https://lnkd.in/eudF3Rq2 Too often, inclusion feels like an afterthought—adjusting existing systems to accommodate different voices. But true inclusivity starts with intentionality. It’s about designing with diversity, equity, and belonging at the core from day one, not treating them as an add-on later. This perspective resonates deeply as I think about leadership, product design, and even parenting. Whether it’s building a product, leading a team, or creating a culture, we should ask: ? Are we including diverse perspectives from the beginning? ? Are we addressing barriers that might limit someone’s full participation? ? Are we designing for equity, not just equality? Inclusion isn’t a checkbox or a quick fix—it’s a mindset shift. It’s about listening, co-creating, and building systems How do you approach inclusion in your work or life? #Inclusion #Diversity #Leadership #Belonging #TEDTalk

Empowering Independence Through Coffee at SEND At SEND Coffee, our mission goes far beyond coffee. "SEND" stands for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, and coffee represents the core of what we do: using the coffee industry as a vehicle for teaching vital life skills to young individuals. Each year, we work with around 10 learners, each with a range of disabilities, guiding them to become skilled baristas in our coffee shops. But our training doesn’t stop at coffee-making. Through our program, we equip them with essential adult life skills: ?? Independent travel ?? Cooking and self-care ?? Social skills ?? Balancing social life and work ?? Safety and finance awareness We believe that these skills are fundamental to their journey toward becoming independent adults who can thrive in the world around them. By using coffee as a tool for empowerment, we're shaping not only skilled professionals but confident, self-reliant individuals ready to take on the world. #Inclusion #DisabilityInTheWorkplace #LifeSkills #SENDCoffee #SocialEnterprise?
