This Women in Construction Week, we at Xpert Design and Construction are not just celebrating the incredible women who are building our future, but we're also taking a moment to spotlight the transformative initiatives we're pioneering to support and empower them. In an industry that thrives on innovation and dedication, it's vital to acknowledge and remove the barriers that minority and women-owned businesses often face. That's why we're proud to offer our groundbreaking MWSBE (Minority/Women-owned Business Enterprises) Certification Workshops. Completely free of charge, these workshops are a beacon of hope for subcontractors of any size, enabling them to join a community that is set on navigating the often overwhelming, tedious, and daunting certification process. Our journey doesn't stop at just making the process less frustrating. We provide a dedicated team that deeply understands the ins and outs of achieving MWSBE certification—a key that unlocks more opportunities for work with larger subcontractors, thanks to government-recognized MWSBE participation percentages. This isn't just about paperwork; it's about building a future where every subcontractor we partner with is empowered to achieve more, contributing to a more inclusive and diverse construction industry. Xpert's commitment to creating opportunities has now evolved into a powerful force for change. By fostering stronger applications for development funding, we're not just opening doors for minority and women-owned businesses; we're laying the foundation for more homes to be built, reinforcing our belief that everyone deserves a quality place to live. As we celebrate Women in Construction Week, we're reminded of the strength, resilience, and contributions of women in our industry. At Xpert, we're not just building structures; we're building dreams, opportunities, and a more inclusive future. Here's to the women who build, innovate, and inspire us every day. #WICWeek2024 #MWSBE #WomeninConstuction #WomeninConstructionWeek #Texas #Louisville

Happy?#WomenInConstructionWeek! ??♀? Introducing our next TRW Barbie,?Danice Fleck. She is our go-to for Accounting/Admin and has been in the construction industry for 21 years! - How do you think the perception of women in construction has evolved over the years? "When I initially entered the construction industry, it was rare to see women leading projects or engaging with site supervisors. Nowadays, it's become the norm, and I believe that projects benefit from the increased precision, given that many women naturally exhibit a keen eye for detail." - What is your favorite part about working in the construction industry? "I appreciate the construction industry for showcasing women's capabilities to handle the same expectations as men. While I acknowledge that physical strength may often favor men, I value the opportunities given to women to excel in this field." #marketing?#construction?#constructionindustry?#womenempoweringwomen

?? Women in Detailing! ?? As we immerse ourselves in Women in Construction Week, I find myself reflecting on the evolving landscape of women in the detailing world. It's an opportune moment to discuss the role of women in rebar detailing, drafting and designing in general. I'm keen to hear about your experiences. How does your team embody diversity? Have you noticed an increase in the representation of women in rebar detailing compared to a few years ago? What are your thoughts on this trend? In my journey with a big detailing office, I've witnessed a significant shift. From our inception, we've embraced diversity, with around half of our staff comprising talented women. Today, that number has surpassed the halfway mark, reflecting the natural evolution of our workforce. Personally, I refrain from passing judgment on such matters, as I see gender balance as a norm rather than an anomaly. I appreciate every existence equally, regardless of whether you are a man or woman, Christian or Muslim, American or Indian. But I really enjoy celebrations, so since there is a Women in Construction Week, I'm curious to learn about the landscape in your respective countries. Do women express interest in pursuing careers as detailers or drafters? Let's ignite this conversation and celebrate the invaluable contributions of women in detailing. #WomenInDetailing #DiversityInConstruction #WomenInConstructionWeek #WomenInConstruction #EmpowerWomen #RebarDetailing #Drafting I invite you to share your insights and experiences! ??

Women make up just 14% of the construction workforce in the U.S. and 1% of chief executives in the field — and Misha Homara is one of them. The 30-year-old is the CEO of Tricore Panels in the Bay Area, a family business her dad started in 2012 that creates metal, wood and concrete paneling for the walls used in construction projects. As CEO, Homara is invested in getting more women in the field. Her goal is to ensure that the staff of Tricore Panels, which is currently just under 50 people, moves from 30% women to 50% women in the next five years. Here's how Homara worked her way up from being the office manager to CEO.

They rarely have size small for gloves!! ?What is one thing you would tell all women about the trades? I would tell all women that the trades are one of the most rewarding careers out there. Reminded me of Margret, a strong lady I know who's into labor work. She's tough, but getting a job's been tricky because some folks worry about the tough tasks. Remember chatting with companies about her, and, you know, it's her CSCS card that often makes them think twice and mostly stop her hiring process. Margret once told me, "I can do things some guys can't." She's got serious skills! Love seeing posts shouting out women in UK construction. Hoping companies get it – women, just like Margret, can handle the physical stuff too. Let's keep cheering for more diversity and equal chances in construction. Cheers to breaking stereotypes and making room for everyone in the construction world!
