How do you get Developers to 'use the thing'? Dev platforms are hard to sell because they require deep integration into existing systems. You can't just toss the product over the fence and ask to developers and ask them to use it. Developers need to invest time learning how to build and debug against the platform, integrate into their dev process, and shape the data. That's why I'm so proud of the Enterprise Workshop model we've pioneered at Medplum. It's a two-week collaborative sprint where our team spends hands-on time working with your engineers to build an MVP on top of the Medplum. ?? Our keys to success are: 1/ Scoping an MVP: We want something that can be accomplished in two weeks, but also addresses all the major technical risks of the project. 2/ Hands-on sessions: These are not lecture sessions. Most of our time is spent having the customer engineers share their screen with us as we work through their code, build/test setup, and infrastructure. 3/ Using real data: Most of the edge cases we work through come not from the code we write but from the data that we import from external systems. Building on real data is essential to making sure we have a system that works. Building something real is the only way to learn a new platform, and our Solutions Engineers are the vanguard for making this happen.
