Last week, our team attended the Advanced Wound Care Summit in Boston. ? Over the course of two days, we gained valuable insights and made meaningful connections. ? Our CEO, Lee Harle, reflects on the discussions: ? “In 25 years, chronic wound healing rates have not really changed — patients as well as clinicians and health systems need innovation that makes a real difference and that can be used at scale to deliver better healing for millions of patients worldwide. This means that as an industry we need to think about all wounds, in the real world, not just the easy-to-heal ones, targeted by trials tipped for success but that do not really progress innovation.? ? A month on from the inaugural Driving Innovation in Wound Care Summit, created to address barriers to care and patient-centered solutions, it is fantastic to see evidence of the event's success. ? The event, hosted by HMP Global’s Symposium on Advanced Wound Care (SAWC) Spring | Wound Healing Society (WHS) partnered with the Wound Care Collaborative Community, comprised over 100 participants including representatives from the FDA, leading #clinicians, #researchers, industry, and #healthcare systems.? ? Discussions focused on disrupting the barriers to innovation with evidence and collaborations; generating and reporting evidence; real-world evidence in FDA and payer decision-making; and defining standard of care in #woundcare #clinicaltrials and clinical practice — all critical to ensuring future innovation and patient-centered solutions for the field of wound care. ?
