As partners of this movement, we are excited to share this new report that highlights substantial economic and job growth across all 46 counties of South Carolina if lawmakers expanded Medicaid! Medicaid expansion would greatly benefit the disability community, providing needed healthcare coverage for those who "fall in the gap" between accessing Medicaid and affordable healthcare. The graphic we're sharing states: "Medicaid expansion would grow South Carolina's economy over the first three years. In fiscal year 2022, every state except Alaska spent a smaller share of its own dollars on Medicaid than they had over the previous 15 years, on average. But the average share of state revenue dedicated to Medicaid is likely to rise in fiscal 2023 and beyond as federal pandemic aid expires and spending pressures mount.
