Plants Against Plastic! In 2023, Jazz launched a solid waste management program at its Digital Headquarters in Islamabad, in collaboration with ISP Environmental Solutions (Pvt) Ltd. The program focuses on segregating solid waste into two categories: organic waste (including food waste) and recyclable waste (such as paper, plastic, and cardboard). Over the past year, we have successfully recycled and composted a total of 77 tonnes (77,000 kg) of solid waste: ? Recycled: 46.8 tonnes ? Composted: 30.3 tonnes ISP Environmental Solutions (Pvt) Ltd proudly partners with Mobilink Jazz in our sustainability efforts. Together, we have given a second life to a significant amount of plastic waste, reducing its impact on our environment. As a reward for our efforts, we earned 500 plants, symbolizing our commitment to a greener future. To celebrate this achievement, we distributed these plants among our employees. TexFad, a pioneering Ugandan company, is leading the way in circular innovation by transforming banana waste into sustainable textile products. A great approach - why? 1?? Upcycling agricultural waste: Texfad utilizes the abundant banana waste in Uganda, converting discarded banana stems into high-quality fibers for textiles. This process not only reduces waste but also creates value from a previously underutilized resource. 2?? Eco-Friendly production: The manufacturing process is environmentally friendly, using natural fibers and minimizing water and energy consumption. Their products, including carpets, bags, and hair extensions, are biodegradable and contribute to a sustainable lifestyle. 3?? Economic Empowerment: By collaborating with smallholder banana farmers, local communities are empowered. The company has trained over 400 youth and retained 27 workers, promoting skill development and job creation.
