On this Transgender Day of Remembrance we honor our trans siblings and community members who have died due to transphobic violence. We mourn the dead and fight like hell for the living, recognizing who we have lost and the ways interpersonal and state violence, like policing and poverty, are an enemy to us all. We recognize that we are all implicated. That, through our personal struggles, we are responsible for one another and will be the ones to save ourselves. We got us.

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance. We have witnessed another year of lethal violence, public harassment, and social policing of trans and non-binary people. As we mourn, we must continue to challenge politics that subjects trans folk to endless debates about their existence and degrades trans lives as an “ideology” or “agenda.” By doing so, we must cultivate a world where we/they can thrive with safety, community, and freedom.

July at Fearless Foundry: A Focus on Freedom At Fearless Foundry, our commitment to living our values means recognizing the complexities of freedom in our society. In light of recent political events and the spirit of reflection prompted by our July 4th message, this month, we dedicate ourselves to exploring the theme of freedom—specifically, the freedoms not afforded to all. Who isn’t free right now?? - People in states where abortion has been effectively banned, forcing them to travel many miles or give birth against their will.? - People in countries where powerful groups are attempting to steal their land right from under their feet.? - People trying to access transgender health care for themselves or their families, only to face barriers put in place by politicians and not doctors.? And so many more.? Join us this month as we explore what freedom truly means and learn how we can collectively work towards a society where everyone is truly free. Let’s educate, engage, and inspire each other to be louder and more impactful than ever before. Together, we can create change.? #Freedom #SocialJustice #FearlessFoundry

?? Gender-based violence is a devastating reality for far too many women, and it's our collective duty to stand against it. By placing ?? in front of our profile names, we show solidarity and amplify the voices of those who can no longer speak for themselves. This August, as we honour Women's Month in South Africa, it's even more important to recognise that Gender-Based Violence is soaring. We must confront this painful reality and work together to create a safer, more just society. I'm sure many of you can relate to the extra precautions we take just to feel safe. Simple actions like: ?? Having the correct key out and ready before reaching your door/car, ?? walking or driving past your destination if someone seems to be following you, ?? avoiding staircases or lifts with only one other person who is a stranger, ?? or texting a friend before going out for a run or when you get "home safe". These aren't just habits; they're survival tactics. Let's take this moment to educate, advocate, and support the survivors and honour those we have lost. Every action counts, no matter how small it may seem. Let's use our platforms to make a difference and push for a world where women can live free from fear and violence. Please join ?? BE HEARD by ZoyaSpeaks in this movement, add a ?? next to your LinkedIn name, and let's stand together against GBV. #WomensMonth #GBV #GBVSouthAfrica #GenderBasedViolenceGBV #GenderBasedViolenceSA #WomensMonthSA #WomensMonthSouthAfrica
?? Gender-Based Violence (GBV) affects countless lives worldwide, often leaving survivors in silence, in fear and most heartbreakingly dead! It's time to change the narrative. Speaking out against GBV is not just an act of courage; it’s a responsibility we all share. By raising awareness, educating ourselves, and supporting survivors, we can break the cycle of violence. You can break the cycle by showing your support and placing ?? in front of your profile name for the month of August. Where possible use your voice to advocate for justice, equality, and respect for all genders. Your voice matters. Let’s remember their names: Namhla Mtwa, Nosicelo Mtembeni, and Dorcas Didi Lekganyane. ?? #NoMore #EndGBV #JusticeForAllVictims #SpeakUp #BreakTheSilence ?? ? #WomenEmpowerment #Sisterhood #StrongerTogether ?

Today is International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Lesbophobia, Interphobia and Transphobia, an internationally recognised day that draws attention to the violence and discrimination experienced by the LGBTQIA+ community. We are proud to highlight member organisations like Galop and Loving Me who provide help, support and advice around abuse and violence. This year's theme is "No one left behind: equality, freedom and justice for all". "This theme will allow for advocacy and celebrations in many forms - be it from human rights defenders, LGBTQIA+ civil society groups, millions of people in our communities, and our allies. This year’s IDAHOBIT theme is a call for unity: only through solidarity for each other will we create a world without injustice, where no one is left behind." https://lnkd.in/eybTTi-C #IDAHOBLIT #IDAHOBIT

"Puberty blockers" are not only prescribed to trans youth, but the vast majority of them are used by youth who maintain a consistency with their natal sex. We know that regardless of intervention, #trans individuals are neurologically distinct from those who maintain consistency between their #gender and their natal sex. We also know that the bulk of the literature across decades indicates that as a treatment regimen, GnRH analogues are integral in diminishing depression and suicidal ideation for trans youth. The Mayo Clinic affirms this, and announces via their website that these drugs do not stop puberty, they merely pause it. The American Psychological Association has information on its website that the two dozen states with codified statutes prohibiting or greatly reducing access to #genderaffirmingcare do a greater disservice and leave open the door to causing more harm than allowing medical practitioners treat their patients. The American Medical Association released a statement in 2021 demanding that states and their governors "Stop interfering in health care of transgender children." It is rare that this type of convoluted bloviation claiming corruption of the youth through "gender ideology" or condemnation of tried and tested therapeutic modalities does not bear the cultural DNA of Abraham and Moses' provincial, time-period bound delusions. Groups like the Alliance Defending Freedom, the American Family Association, and the Family Research Council should stop practicing medicine without a license--but then again on a host of other issues, they have rarely second-guessed this type of impropriety. In California we have a particular section of our Welfare and Institutions Code that places a mandatory and involuntary hold on those who would otherwise be a danger to themselves or other people. Shame that "5150" is only a great metal album and not a safeguard on anti-LGBT legislation both domestically and overseas.
Trans in the City Statement 12th December 2024: Puberty Blockers We note with horror and distress the news that the UK government has selectively banned the use of ‘puberty blockers’ for young trans people. These are medicines with a 40 year track record of safe and effective use, and their banning only for Transgender children sets a chilling precedent for the removal of healthcare for vulnerable groups based not on sound clinical evidence, but rather on the darkest of politics. Trans in the City condemns this action and calls on our sponsor and member community to ensure that every support can be given to the parents of trans youth working in their organisations as they navigate what will be a distressing and frightening time. The Trans and Non-Binary community is living through a particularly dark period at the moment, we need our allies to step up more than ever and speak out against bigotry and political interference in human rights.

Today, on Transgender Day of Remembrance, we honor and remember the countless lives of Transgender individuals, especially Black Trans women, lost to violence and systemic oppression this year. The Broader Challenges Black Trans People Face: -34% of Black Trans individuals live in extreme poverty, earning less than $10,000 annually—eight times the rate of the general population. -41% have experienced homelessness at some point, a staggering five times the national average. Among Black Trans youth, 25% have attempted suicide in the past year, highlighting the urgent need for mental health support and systemic change. These statistics represent more than numbers—they reflect lives impacted by violence, discrimination, and a lack of resources. Black Mothers in Power stands in solidarity with our Black Trans siblings, reaffirming our commitment to justice, equity, and safety for every member of our community. #TransDayOfRemembrance #TDOR #BlackTransLivesMatter #EndTransphobia #ProtectBlackTransWomen #SayTheirNames

“Project 2025 Presidential Transition Project” or Project 2025 is a sweeping plan to reshape presidential powers and the federal bureaucracy in the image of dominionism. A few facts on Project 2025 ?? ??It's developed and supported by a coalition of 75+ organizations – including at least nine hate and antigovernment groups with ties to the Republican Party. ??It features, in great detail, the ways movement loyalists could use their powers to restrict access to abortion further dramatically. I stand and support the SPLC (Southern Poverty Law Center) and have for many years. SPLC is NOT wrong about the grave threat posed by Project 2025 to the U.S. democracy, to individual freedoms, to rights of minorities, the rights of women, and more. You may not like political posts in LinkedIn, but the threat is real, and it will affect everyone and every business in the United States. https://lnkd.in/gsATyPtB Vote blue in your school, local, county, state, and federal elections. Democrats are FAR from perfect, but the majority care about humanity and the planet. If you DO NOT care about clean drinking water, less air pollution, climate change, the right to vote, the right for a person to make decisions regarding their healthcare, etc. then by all means vote GOP. But to do so is to put you and your families lives in peril. And, finally, religious choice (or no religion) should be a personal choice, not a forced choice. Democracy not Theocracy!
