More power to such initiatives.
Breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for women to thrive in traditionally male-dominated fields. Through mentorship programs, educational initiatives, and advocacy efforts, we're empowering women in viticulture and winemaking. Right from the gross root level as a vineyard worker to wine makers and wine tour managers, we have used their expertise to craft our wines. Diversity and inclusion are essential pillars of a vibrant wine industry, and I'm committed to empowering women in viticulture and winemaking. #inclusion #viticulture #women

In this month's Women in Yachting feature, we shine a spotlight on Giverny Jade, Head of Charter at Mortlock Yachts. What advice would you give someone who is starting in the yachting industry? “With the increasing amount of competition in the industry (on land and onboard), I believe that the most important aspect is your attitude and approach. We cannot control what happens to us, but we can control how we handle it.” ?? Read the full interview: https://lnkd.in/erG-K6Y4

?? Let’s talk Women in Whisky ?? ? Recently we’ve been hosting sessions to appreciate and celebrate the role women play in the whisky industry and share ways to improve both equality?*and*?equity. ? Initiated by Sarah Nisbet from our Retail team, with special guest Dr Emma Walker, Johnnie Walker Master Blender, it’s been a thought-provoking look at how we can contribute to making the whisky industry fairer for all. ? Some of the big themes that came out: ? * Female employees are still getting asked “do you even like whisky?” and “what does it feel like to be a woman in this industry?”. Even mainstream media are asking this. These aren’t questions that male colleagues receive, so how can we change this perception? * Marketing of whisky bears some responsibility to change the outdated perception that ‘whisky is a man’s drink’. This means briefing agencies to reach diverse demographics, and challenging stereotypical depictions of whisky drinkers in campaigns. * There can be a feeling that talking about ‘women in whisky’ perpetuates the sense that this is somehow a new thing, when in fact women have worked in all areas of whisky production since early days.?So?on the one hand we need to work to normalise the role of women in the industry, championing merit over gender, while simultaneously creating a more equitable environment, with fairer opportunity, pay and empowerment. * Since opening, our Journey of Flavour tour has had a 50:50 split of male to female guests. What else can we do to encourage this equal split of whisky appreciation? We may not have all the answers yet, but we're asking the questions and will continue to push for positive change. #whisky #diversity

Before I started working with Diana Markaki - Bartholdi I asked one question, What’s our success metric? Simple, she said It’s the number of board offers our programme graduates receive. That’s it. Which means the Boardroom only accepts applicants who are board material. Every single pound our members (or their employers) invest in our programme is a step toward tangible, high-level professional achievement. Which if you know me, is all I needed to here. The only thing I hate more than wasting money is wasting time — mine or yours. If you feel the same, And you’re aiming for a significant leap in your professional journey, let’s connect. Together, let’s redefine success.
