“But I’m not a teacher.” One of the most rewarding parts of the upskilling we do is that it is not only aimed at our upskillers, it's usually something that happens in a lot of areas around our projects. And my favourite is with the trainers, the technical experts we partner up with. After I get them hooked on the idea to be head trainer, I do a run with them to talk about what pedagogy actually means, and it’s always a nice reminder:? “Pedagogy is a broad science that deals with the influencing processes that shape and change people, both children and adults.” Thats right. Its not about just adding skills and knowledge, it's also about behaviours and how we deal with stuff, both success and failures, on a large scale. So, please keep that in mind when talking about fostering a learning culture. Learning, unlearning, understanding and adapting.

When it comes to brains, learning and cognitive processing, it doesn't matter whether you 5 or 50, safety is best. creating safety for brains ensures that our full "higher-level thinking" parts of our brain (the pre-frontal cortex), which handles all of the problem-solving, organization, and executive functions of the brain, is up and running at max function. "Brain-safe spaces" are emotionally, socially and psychologically safe spaces. Luckily, there are some pretty simple things we can all do as educators to make our spaces more safe for everyone!

Fostering Growth and Inclusion for every Learner. In today's diverse learning environments, creating a safe space isn't enough. We must cultivate brave spaces where all learners feel that their ideas and opinions are valued ,they can share their voices and learn from each other The why ? For brave spaces Deeper Learning Stepping outside comfort zones is essential for intellectual growth. In a brave space, students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and challenge ideas, leading to deeper understanding and critical thinking. Inclusion and Equity When diverse perspectives are valued and heard, all learners feel a sense of belonging and ownership in their learning journey. Brave spaces create a platform for authentic dialogue and foster empathy and respect. Resilience and Growth By embracing challenges and learning from diverse perspectives, students develop the confidence and resilience needed to navigate personal and professional challenges throughout their lives Basically ,a teacher's core objective is to ensure that every learner is accommodated throughout the learning process ,this brings about positive feedback,which in return acts as a motivating factor So I'd urge all the teachers outside here to embrace and take up the challenge of creating brave and safe spaced for our learners!!

Interesting article in HBR today. The intersection between traditional academics and corporate learning is always interesting to me - so I try to keep up to date on developments in both fields. Especially because I work in both. To develop lifelong learning skills I think it is important to look at learning more broadly - especially motivations to learn. I’ve been fortunate that the past 25 years of teaching have allowed me to teach the intersection between these learning styles and environments.

I know this statement to be true… understanding my approach to learning, rather than conforming to a prescribed “right way” has allowed my life to flow more smoothly. Ideas, relationships, and time have begun to align in harmony. I firmly believe that “learning” in a way that resonates with your individual nature and cognitive style is essential—there is certainly no single path to learning. No need to force something, there’s always a smoother approach.
