Here are a few suggestions from our team on how to thoughtfully celebrate Black History Month: ?Educate Yourself: Read books by Black authors, watch documentaries, and attend cultural events to deepen your understanding of Black history and its impact. ?Support Black-Owned Businesses: Shop at Black-owned stores, restaurants, and online shops to uplift and empower Black entrepreneurs and communities. ?Amplify Black Voices: Share stories, achievements, and contributions of Black leaders, artists, and innovators on social media or within your organization to celebrate and honor their impact.

??Participants Needed?? Do you identify as a Black person in the United States who engages in outdoor citizen or community science projects? Citizen and community science projects include iNaturalist, eBird, HerpMapper, volunteer water quality monitoring, the GLOBE apps, or ANY participatory science project where you go OUTDOORS to collect and share data about your environment? Are you interested in learning a technique that could empower actionable change in participatory science projects or other social justice initiatives? Researchers from North Carolina State University are inviting Black individuals engaged in the participatory sciences to write about, discuss, analyze, and co-produce understandings of their individual experiences and how that links to the collective.
