THANK YOU to everyone that joined us at last Thursday's Fireside Chat, in partnership with MENTOR National @mentornmp. The panel conversation shed light on the chronically disproportionate gaps in young peoples’ access to social capital and looked at how mentoring bolsters systems and policy level change through cross-sector partnerships with employers that center relationship-centered practices and coordinated advocacy efforts on the state and federal level for public investments. A special thank you to our hosts, Bain Capital, and to our panelists: Ernesto Anguilla, Head of Communications and Public Affairs, Bain Capital Julie Lammers, SVP of Advocacy and Corporate Social Responsibility, American Student Assistance Nageeb Sumar, Head of Social Impact, Fidelity Investments Abigail Goward Hollingsworth, Senior Vice President, Workforce Development External Partner Engagement, Bank of America Chynah Tyler, Massachusetts State Representative Abbie Evans, Chief Policy & Advocacy Officer, MENTOR Jermaine Myrie, CEO, MENTOR Dr. Cynthia K. Definitely check these training opportunities out. Here's some more feedback. "Morgan's training is excellent. While I found the content to be incredibly rich and stimulating in ways that pushed my thinking and practice, it was the way Morgan delivered the training that took the learning to a whole other level. The training is so well held, deeply respectful and yet seemed somehow effortless by Morgan, which I know is not the case. Morgan truly lives and models how to work with people with lived experience." –?Kerry Graham, Collaboration for Impact Go to https://lnkd.in/gPJh7FW to read more and book a spot on these workshops. #LivedExperience #SocialChange #AdvocacySkills #InclusivePractice #SystemicChange #PolicyDevelopment #EmpowermentWorkshops #EthicalStorytelling #ParticipatoryMethods #PowerDynamics #EquitableFuture #CommunityEngagement #SocialJustice #ProfessionalDevelopment #TransformativeLearning #InclusiveLeadership #PolicyInnovation #DiversityandInclusion #ImpactfulChange

In mission-driven nonprofits and multinational corporations alike, organizations – workplaces, faith communities, schools - are where many of us learn and practice ways of navigating different perspectives. It’s where we are likeliest to encounter people with different backgrounds and identities. It’s where we acquire norms around conflict and collective decision-making. Organizational cultures exert a powerful influence on the way Americans engage in civic life, on the norms of our political deliberation and discourse, and on the level of polarization we see in our communities and across the nation. Co-created by Essential Partners and the 92NY’s Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact, the new Share Our Organization Toolkit can help your organization become an incubator for democracy while helping you and your colleagues meet goals, hold difficult conversations, set new policy, and build a culture of collaboration, innovation, and belonging. Today, we're sharing the last installment of our five-part series on #narrativechange insights. The past three years of investment, partnerships, and research have given us an early assessment of ways both Funders and Practitioners can engage in narrative change and power building with an equity lens. Here's what we've learned: Practitioners & Content Creators — Lean into Participatory Storytelling as a skill & tool to enhance grant/ funding proposals and build community voice/power — Look for ways to create storytelling opportunities for community leaders/orgs who otherwise might not have the space/platform — Leverage public figures and social media to engage target audiences who can be activated in a movement for equity. Funders & Philanthropists — Resource NPOs & Media Professionals to work together to share issue-based stories that resonate with local audiences — Leverage relationships with research-based institutions and impact data from other Funders and make available to NPOs looking to convene/scale — Shift foundation policy to provide general operating support with pro-bono strategic comms capacity building & technical assistance. If you haven't already, please review our recent posts to learn about the other key insights in our #narrativechange series. We'll be sharing our full narrative primer soon. #EquityinAction #NarrativeChange #WRF #RelentlessPursuit

I help women lead THEIR way! Leadership Development. Women’s Empowerment. Action focussed life & career coaching.
This is a factual quote from a highly qualified, senior woman in a big corporate. A brilliant woman, highly regarded in that organisation, but in that moment feeling like a little girl with no voice. If you recognise experiences like this in your own life and you are tired of feeling small, but also don't quite understand why you don't allow the confident, outraged part of you to speak up in such situations... I am not going to tell you to just speak up for yourself, it's not that simple! What you need first is CLARITY around why it's difficult, what is most important to you and your own VISION for how you want your life and career to be.... Add in a little magic that is created by having a strong community of like-minded women behind you and you will have the confidence to deal with any situation in graceful way, that you can be proud of. Want some RADICAL CLARITY, as the foundation from which you build the life and career you really want...? Drop me a line. I am now taking early-bird enrolments for the 10 week group programme starting in September that will have you recreating your confidence, your sense of self and rock solid boundaries between work and life. For those women brave enough to step in now, a special early bird price AND if you pay in full, you will receive a free 90 minute 121 to be taken over the summer holidays to prepare you in the very best way for the next chapter. DM or comment below for more details. RADICAL CLARITY, CALM & GRACEFUL LEADERSHIP (at work and at home) can all be yours, if you are ready?!
