CESOP is postponed?! Is it?? I was discussing with a German PSP recently telling me that as Bundeszentralamt für Steuern gives a 3-month grace period for their Q1 CESOP reporting, they can focus on other jurisdictions. They did not like it when I told them they unfortunately can’t… They are in the card issuing business and even if the payments made by their German customers can be reported later, those payments should still be taken into account to check the threshold of their payees. In other words, they still need to do their data gathering, cleansing and consolidate their payees to establish which payments are reportable. The only (but still useful!) relief Germany gives them, is more time to set up their connection with the German Digitaler Posteingang (DIP), BZSt’s Machine-to-Machine submission system (something Regnology can help you with by the way). In other words, the impact of a deadline postponement needs to be analysed based on a PSP’s business and footprint. As always, I am happy to discuss your CESOP needs. #CESOP #ItIsNotTooLate P.S.
