I love places that make you stop and feel. The ones that don’t fit neatly into any box. An old spooky warehouse with its walls full of stories. A tiny restaurant hidden away where you can smell the spices before you even step inside. A cave; a secret garden; a wild jungle resort. These unorthodox places -- weird places -- strange places are my favorite because they surprise me. A place that is altogether unexpected -- or rather, attending an event at an unexpected place (I just found a library that's in the middle of a forest, for example) is deliciously delightful to me. It changes how I see things, how I connect with the people in the place with me. That’s why I’m drawn to them—because they have heart. And are unafraid to "be different." They let me be weird too! (Because I am.) They make me want to linger, to learn more, to remember them. To soak up some of that courage!
