Heirloom gifting, gifts that span generations, with love in every stitch. We are giving less but oh so much more. New article on Our Fashion Fix Ltd talking about all heirloom gifting this holiday season. #heirloom #Circularity #preloved #vintagegifting #nannaknits
Stumbled upon something truly special at Galeries Lafayette in Paris -vintage, children’s sweaters hand-knitted by grandmothers in the south of France from the 1970s to the 1990s. These aren’t just garments; they’re heirlooms with wisdom in every stitch. This got me thinking about the beauty of giving gifts that not only last but also carry meaning and history. As we head into the holidays, I’m choosing quality and thoughtfulness over trends. What about you? #CircularEconomy #SustainableGifting #ourfashionfix #sustainablefuture #clubtresor #galerieslafayette #giveknowingly Jo Ingham

?? Second-hand fashion on the runway? Yes, please! ?? With platforms like eBay and Vinted leading the charge, the future of fashion might just be second-hand. ??? Recently, ebay debuted a fashion show featuring pre-loved pieces at London and New York Fashion Week, showcasing that second-hand doesn’t mean second-best. Albeit not a new concept—Oxfam has carved a space out for itself during London Fashion Week years ago, even if outside of the normal schedule— it's still cool to see what platforms and organisations do with it. What ebay did well was curate the shows to represent what they are like. A mixture of everything, from really expensive pieces paired with cheap clothing to rare finds in jewelry, you can expect anything. This is particularly fun to see as it shows that second-hand isn't just cheap no-brand or fast fashion shirts, but also rare timeless pieces. What I love about initiatives like these is how they reframe the narrative. Instead of constantly spotlighting new collections—which, let’s face it, inevitably fuels overconsumption—we’re showing the world how beautiful pre-loved pieces can be. Fashion shows like these can spark a shift in consumer mentality, challenging the outdated "produce, buy, throw away" model. More and more people are embracing second-hand fashion. Whether it's out of environmental consciousness or simply a love for unique pieces, the interest in pre-loved clothing is skyrocketing. But seeing runway shows like these normalises it even further and also shows the range of items you may find if you're willing to browse. And let's be honest, people love browsing anyway. But the unpredictability of second-hand fashion is half the fun of it! Here’s to more fashion shows that celebrate sustainability, creativity, and a smarter way to shop! I'd love to hear your thoughts on second-hand fashion being represented on the catwalk though. Could this be a sign of lasting change in the industry? Drop your thoughts below and let’s get the conversation started! ?? #SustainableFashion #SecondHand #EcoFriendly #FashionIndustry #Sustainability #ConsciousConsumerism #FashionRevolution #CircularFashion #Thrifting

Such a fun way to make people understand second-hand isn't just "ratty stuff" someone else doesn't want anymore—it's all kinds of different treasures, you just gotta have the patience and dedication to find them! There is also something to be said about making your pieces with timelessness and uniqueness in mind. So that if the originally customer doesn't want them anymore, they can pass them on to the next person. Creating clothes in a way that gives them the longest life possible is incredibly important, but make your products stand out with unique features, like using new ingredient pieces that no one else has yet. We are cooking up exactly that—a nifty feature that is sure to make you stand out. ------------- If you're interested in #SustainableFashion, make sure to stay tuned as we are on a mission to help boost the functionality and longevity of clothing. Wonder how we do it? Follow and connect with us to find out more soon. You don't want to let this one slip away! #PocketInnovation #FuntionalFashion #InnovativeDesign

As London Fashion Week opens, and eBay is using the platform to show second hand fashion on the runway, I shared some thoughts on resale with Bella Webb for Vogue Business. In short: ?? Pop culture is critical in normalising new behaviours and broadening the reach and appeal of secondhand. ? Secondhand needs to be developed in a way that does not fuel overconsumption nor serves as a tool to accelerate the linear model. ?? Measuring success can be looked at company level - e.g. share of revenues - but is mostly relevant at industry level: "?????? ???????? ???? ???? ???????????? ???? ?????????????????? ???? ?????????????? ???????? ???????????????? ???????????? ?? ???????????????? ??????????????, ?????? ???? ???????? ???? ?????????????????? ???? ???????????????? ??????????????????." ??Circular fashion in the news in a BIG way! eBay is participating in the Pre-Loved Fashion Week, in partnership with Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and British Fashion Council (BFC). Now, eBay shoppers will be able to purchase designer clothes as the models walk the catwalk. Do we need this artificial sense of urgency to buy clothes? ?? On the upside, consumers will have an option to purchase designer goods at a lower price, but will they get the message that pre-loved and vintage are examples of sustainable and circular fashion? Wouldn’t that be great? ?? According to eBay, pre-loved and refurbished makes up 40% of the marketplace’s gross merchandise volume. In June 2024, global eBay users searched for "vintage" over 1,000 times a minute, on average. ?? In case you are following Fashion Week, the shows will feature the Spring/Summer 2025 collections. Here are the dates: * New York Fashion Week: September 6–11, 2024?? * London Fashion Week: September 12–17, 2024 #circularfashion
