TOMORROW MORNING (SATURDAY APRIL 20TH) at 10:30 AM our amazing Who I Am Foundation volunteers in #Albuquerque will be having our next Community Clean-Up (ABQ)! For this Community Clean-Up our volunteers will meet up at, and clean the neighborhood around Mesa Verde Community Center located at 7900 Marquette NE Albuquerque NM 87108 NO OPEN-TOED SHOES Cleaning up loose trash is one of the best ways to pitch in for your community and the environment. Volunteering as a means to help conserve and protect the environment has a lot of upsides. Of course, the first is that you’ll be taking care of our planet, and it badly needs a little love given the myriad ways in which we’ve become adept at destroying it. But beyond that, volunteering for a cause you care about is a great way to meet like-minded people, make friends, and pull yourself out of the blues that sometimes accompany caring a lot about something important – especially if you feel alone in your endeavors. None of us like the sight of litter. Litter spoils the look of where we live but that’s not the only reason for picking up litter. There are a number of benefits from picking up litter that you may not have considered before. Volunteer-led projects such as these are one of the quickest, simplest, and least expensive ways to inspire more community spirit and civic action. A visually appealing community increases property values, attracts businesses, and improves the neighborhood's image. Beauty is one of the three most influential factors in community attachment, which means loyalty, to your particular town or city. Some research even shows that a nice-looking neighborhood promotes good behavior. Join us in keeping your community clean! For more information: https://lnkd.in/g2ByASKE #TeamWhoIAm_Albuquerque

?? Tuesday NEWSDAY: Community Action at Urban Wellness ?? This week at Urban Wellness, we’ve been staying active in our local and extended communities: ?? Supporting Local Business Owners: A number of our staff members have been volunteering with @palenquelsna to distribute resources and information to local businesses, helping ensure that individuals threatened by ICE know their rights. ?? Wildfire Relief Efforts: We’re organizing to send firefighter t-shirts to a veteran in LA who lost their home to the wildfires. Our hearts are with everyone impacted, and we’re staying informed about relief efforts to find ways to contribute. ?? Vision Boarding for Resilience: Leadership gathered for a vision boarding exercise to reflect on resilience amidst tough times. While some themes felt heavy, we also found ways to honor hope and creativity as tools for navigating adversity. We’re so grateful to the local businesses supporting social justice causes and to everyone in our community working toward a better future. We know it’s not always easy, but together, we’ll keep showing up in the best ways we can. #TuesdayNEWSDAY #UrbanWellness #CommunityAction #KnowYourRights #WildfireRelief #ResilienceInAdversity

November Planning for Spouses’ Clubs: Balancing Community and Connection As we move into November, it’s an ideal time for spouses clubs to plan activities that bring members together while making a meaningful impact. Here are some ideas for both enjoyable events and nonprofit initiatives that reflect the spirit of the season. Community-Building Activities: ? Friendsgiving Gathering: Host a potluck to strengthen bonds and celebrate the season together. ? Creative Workshop: Organize a seasonal craft event, such as wreath-making or DIY holiday decor, to encourage creativity and connection. ? Outdoor Fall Excursions: Plan a group nature walk or hiking event to enjoy the autumn scenery. Opportunities to Give Back: ? Thanksgiving Basket Initiative: Organize a food drive and assemble holiday meal baskets for local families in need. ? Volunteer Day: Arrange a group volunteer day at a community shelter or soup kitchen to support those less fortunate. ? Care Packages for Service Members: Coordinate a care package drive to send essentials and treats to deployed service members or veterans during the holiday season. By blending camaraderie with community service, you can make November a memorable and impactful month for our members and the broader community. Let us know what’s on your agenda this month! #SpousesClub #NovemberInitiatives #CommunityImpact #SeasonOfGiving
