Education is at the core of what we do. While we focus on ensuring our youth are on grade level, we also believe learning should be fun. One of the games we use to make education engaging is Hangman. Beyond being a word game, Hangman fosters essential skills like vocabulary, spelling, concentration, and even teamwork. It motivates students to learn, corrects spelling mistakes, and helps them grasp pronunciation—all while creating a fun, collaborative environment. In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene in western North Carolina, our Brigade Campus Teen Center will serve as a disaster relief donation collection site. We encourage anyone who can contribute to drop off the below supplies at the Brigade Campus Teen Center, Monday through Friday, between 12pm and 6pm. All donations will be directly distributed to those in need in western North Carolina. We’re proud to announce that we’ve recently received a grant from United Way of Onslow County, supporting our Project Learn initiative and Sandy Run Campus. Project Learn strengthens academic enrichment and school engagement for young people, utilizing the time they spend at the Club to foster educational growth. With this support, we’re able to provide our members with the tools and resources they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom. This past weekend, we welcomed Fall with a vibrant Fall Festival at our Sandy Run Campus! ?? From video game trucks and cornhole to fall crafts and snow cones, the day was packed with fun. More importantly, it was a reminder of how events like these not only bring our Club members together but also strengthen our connection with the broader community. When we create spaces for youth to connect, learn, and grow outside of traditional settings, we're helping to shape a future filled with collaboration and shared experiences. We're excited to highlight the vital work of Leandra Grady, our dedicated Workforce Development Specialist, who has been with our Clubs for over 10 years. In the Workforce Development Program, Leandra helps prepare our Club members for future success by connecting them with industry professionals, arranging workplace visits, supporting academic goal-setting, and guiding them through the college application process. Programs like Keystone and Torch Clubs, teen employment at our Clubs, externships, and workforce-specific training provide invaluable opportunities for our youth to explore their passions and develop critical employability skills.
