Alumni associations play a vital role in the lifeblood and overall success of public high schools. They can provide high school seniors with access to valuable opportunities in college, the military, the workforce, trades, and community colleges. Additionally, alumni associations can significantly support schools through consistent fundraising efforts beyond a one-time membership fee.
For instance, consider if NAHS, with approximately 12,000 graduates (roughly 300/year) over the past 40 years, were to have just half of its alumni—6,000—pay a one-time $50 membership fee. This alone would generate $300,000 to fund alumni initiatives and support current students and staff. Further fundraising efforts could amplify this impact, ensuring sustainable benefits for the school community.
Definitely something worth considering.
