In college, I wish I learned about the challenges of finding a job post-graduation, including the struggles, roadblocks, and lessons about the workforce. As someone currently struggling to secure employment, I realize my mistake in assuming a degree would suffice; now, companies seek experience, often obtained through internships, which I lacked until after graduation. Many companies seem to prefer hiring students who have not yet graduated, leaving post-grad job searches feeling hopeless. Interviews can be daunting, especially for those prone to blanking out on unprepared questions like myself. Utilizing mock interviews at the career center can provide some assistance, though the process remains nerve-wracking. Despite conducting interviews and reaching out through platforms like LinkedIn and email, I often receive no response, which is disheartening. My advice for job-seeking graduates is to persevere through the frustration and uncertainty, as resilience is key to navigating this challenging landscape. For further guidance, I recommend reaching out to college career centers, which can offer resume feedback and tailored advice. Despite the obstacles, giving up is not an option; rather, it's an opportunity to learn and grow! You got this!

#GINASTIPS check - check...is this thing on? ?? I'm back with another job search tip. The last one was on the application submission discipline. This one is one is on, well...everything. I run a nationwide apprenticeship and here is another tip that my teams use that I am sure you do not. The point of a resume is not to get a job. The point of an interview is not to get a job. The point of applying for jobs is not to get a job. Relax. Hear me out. I promise it's worth it. OK here goes. The point of a resume is only to alert others that you are looking. What I mean is that if that piece of paper is the first time the hiring manager has seen your skills, you are doing it wrong. Use your network! Use this platform! Allow your resume to simply bolster what we already know. The point of an interview is to ensure that upon negotiation, you have built the confidence necessary to understand the value you bring to the company. see where I am going with this? When you apply, use it to drive traffic to your profile, not to interview. Intrigue them so they come looking. ?? Based on the rationale of making every easy for the employer, if the reason you are getting a job isn't to make money, what is the reason? I am excited to see what you come up with. Apprenticeship students cannot participate in this activity. :)

Campus placements are a storm of emotions - exciting, nerve-wracking, and everything in between. ? With experience as both - a student navigating the placement process and a recruiter evaluating candidates, I’ve compiled some tips to help students successfully navigate through this crucial phase: 1. Craft a Standout Resume ?? Your resume is your first impression. Ensure it’s polished, error-free, and highlights not just academic achievements but also projects, internships, and relevant extracurriculars. Make it a powerful reflection of unique skills and experiences! 2. Prepare for Aptitude Tests ?? Aptitude tests are a common part of the hiring process. Focus on key areas like logical reasoning, quantitative skills, and verbal ability. Practice with sample questions and timed exercises to sharpen skills and build confidence. 3. Master Group Discussions ??? Group discussions are crucial for many entry-level roles. To excel, practice clearly articulating your thoughts and engaging constructively with others. Stay informed on current trends and practice discussing various scenarios to prepare effectively. 4. Network with Alumni and Professionals ?? Connecting with alumni and current professionals from the company you’re applying to can provide valuable insights for interviews. Reach out to them to understand the company culture, role expectations, and interview tips. This can help you tailor your responses and demonstrate a genuine interest in the organization. ?
