How do you build a successful SaaS product without investment? Ask Harvest. ?? 70,000 business customers ? 2 billion hours tracked ?? $63 billion invoiced by customers All without raising investment. We’ve used harvest since 2015 now.?Why? It does one thing very, very well: ?? Track time. That’s it. It integrates with our other tools, the team tracks time, and we generate reporting to make budget forecasts per project. Whilst there will be many reasons they’ve grown to this size, I think the core reason we use it as a customer is: simplicity. Harvest does the same thing it did 9 years ago, just better. I think it’s natural for SaaS founders to get pulled pillar to post trying to decide which features to build into their product, and sometimes it leads to ‘feature bashing’ – adding features which add little to no customer value. That makes the user experience more complicated, and the product gets harder to maintain. Features like this are worse than dead weight, you have to get rid of them. ? SaaS founders need to reflect on one salient question: ??♂? What core problem does my product solve for customers, and how do we ensure we solve that as best we can be? Features which don’t contribute to this are honestly just a distraction. #scaleups #newcastle #saas #timetracking
