Where are Africans in their mixed races? As for poo water, no thanks I prefer my river water in the jungles of Africa.
The Singapore model is difficult to replicate. I understand it has the highest number of Expatriates and International Organization Staff per local population in the world.
For me the Bhutan model is the best. Gross National Happiness Index coupled with Simple living should be the Mantra. Unlike Singapore , Bhutan believes in a minamilistic lifestyle. Bhutan is what Africa will find easy to emulate. Living with nature . Unlike Singapore that has destroyed its original habitat to create a concrete jungle that no doubt has the best systems in place but has no natural resources.
Lol. Imagine saying racism has been solved when they didn't show us a single black person ??. Beside, the country is expensive and ...
We have two problems in Africa: inadequate infrastructure and above all unconscious people. We need to raise awareness among citizens and take advantage of frugal innovation.
Sorry, that is a case of False equivalence leading to a misleading narrative. Singapore can be compared to Lagos or Nairobi at most, but not with Nigeria or Kenya as a whole. Singapore is an authoritarian, developed city state not a PERFECT country. And my sense is - AFTER the initial feelings of comfort, security & convenience wear off…..most African’s, would not like to live PERMANENTLY under such a dispensation, notwithstanding the Discomfort, Chaos, Struggle & Risks at home!
This example of Singapore is proof that the fact that it was colonized in the past, the country supported independence, took control of its future, invested intelligently and became a developed country. From my experience in Africa I would say that African countries can and should do the same, I would say that they could have already done it if their elites wanted it
African states need to do away with corruption and self-hate first. That’s the only way we can change.
All relates to vision and political willingness!

11 个月I do like a positive post. Singapore also has many lessons for the liberal western democracies. Just goes to show what you can do with decent management/ government. So many countries (including mine) have simply mismanaged their opportunities of the last 50 years. What the post doesn't mention is the educational system in Singapore, which is not just technically good in the academic sense, but also emphasises and nurtures civic values and pride. Also worth mentioning that Singapore is a very low tax economy, and very business friendly, yet still defends its ecology and social priorities.
