Today, I express a profound thank you to: ? The companies ? Institutions ? Job applications ? Internship opportunities ? Board member roles ? Collaboration offers …that decided to go in different directions, after dedicating time, energy, rounds of interviews, and crafting essays to prove my value for sometimes unpaid positions. It has been an ugly truth to process, and even more intense to embrace the reality that these experiences are guiding me closer to where I am truly meant to be. I strongly believe that we all find our rightful place when we embrace the path that leads us to where we belong. As woo woo ??as it sounds: the universe is only pointing you in the direction where you are meant to be. Let rejection be redirection. #internship #RejectionIsRedirection #letGo #marketing #advertising

Happy New Year, LinkedIn Family! With Spring and Summer internships season just around the corner, I wanted to share some of my favorite tips for landing your dream internship in 2025. Best of luck! I hope you crush it. ? - Start your search early. It can never be too early to do your research, especially because different companies open up their application processes and portals at different times throughout the year. It can help to stay organized and to even create a schedule of deadlines to make sure that you stay on top of it all! For example, Universal Music Group just opened up their internship application for the Summer, but Live Nation Entertainment has applications open for this Spring: https://lnkd.in/gzJDcceX. - Stay on top of interviews and interview request emails. Perhaps even create a schedule or a planner to stay organized with interviews, deadlines, and hopefully, potential offers! Make sure to schedule yourself in a way that works efficiently. You know you best. :) - Make sure to diversify your search and use a variety of different job search platforms. I love using resources like The ROSTR Group and LinkedIn - companies often have organized sections on their websites that you can lead on - and, some universities, colleges, and schools have their own specifically tailored and curated resources, platforms, and mailing lists of opportunities. University of Southern California offers us access to Handshake, for example! Best of luck with your internship search! You got this.? #Internships #Jobs #Careers #College #University #Universities #Internships #Applications #JobSearch #Career

Hey everyone, Foziya Khan here! My DM is flooded with internship requests for media houses, and lots of you are asking: "Do internships really matter for a media career?" Let's get straight to it. Honestly, no, internships aren't a necessity for breaking into the media industry. Most media companies don't prioritize your previous internship experience. They're more interested in training and nurturing fresh talent. I know this from experience. I didn't do an internship before landing my job, and it didn't hurt me one bit. In fact, many of my colleagues were in the same boat - no internship experience, no problem! So, should you bother with an internship? It's up to you. If you want to get a feel for a company, learn the ropes, or potentially land a job, go for it. But if you're short on time or just want to dive into your career, you can skip it. Remember, it's about what works for you, not what others expect. I've done just fine without an internship, and you can too! Hope this clears things up for all the aspiring media professionals out there! #media #internship #internships #mediainternships #newsmedia #mediastudents #interns

Still struggling to grab a summer internship??? Exactly a year ago, I was in the same boat, feeling FOMO as others secured internships at big brands while I was unsure how to utilize those 2 months productively. Here are some tips that helped me: 1. Always target 2 or 3 companies simultaneously (focusing on a single company increases the chance of rejection.) 2. Do not rely solely on job portals for vacancies. 3. Start doing cold mailings (including LinkedIn messages and direct emails). 4. Keep your messages concise. Extremely large messages are unlikely to be read. 5. Be patient and trust the process. Some might get a call from the first email, while others might need to send over 300+ (just like me, lol!). 6. Do not compare yourself to anyone else. Stay persistent and believe in yourself! #internships #career #studentlife #linkedin

51 applicants applied for my recent hiring. I reached out to everyone and rejected 2 of them on the spot. It happened that one of the applicants assumed it was unpaid. Without any interaction, she asked me for the stipend. A very bad move. This reflects that you are only into “Money” without even understanding what business is and what work will be. I rejected her on the spot. Later, she asked me whether the internship was unpaid as she was looking for a job. Ofcourse, it is paid. 2 things to keep in mind: 1. If you are looking for a job, don’t apply for an internship. 2. If you are unsure about the internship, don’t apply. If you make this mistake, you will miss future opportunities. What are your thoughts? #learningwithmayur #personalbranding #storytelling #hiring #internship

One morning, I received a call about a vacant internship position. Some time ago, I began applying for summer internships, and a few of them responded positively. After sending numerous cold emails and applications, I was fortunate to receive two internship offers. Regrettably, I couldn't accept the second offer as it required onsite presence, and due to current circumstances, commuting wasn't feasible for me. However, one of the internships is remote, for which I am truly grateful. I gladly accepted this opportunity. Here's what helped me: 1. Keep your cold mail content precise. 2. Drop a follow up mail after 3-4 days. Make sure it's not too early, keep it one paragraph. 3. Upload an updated resume. Make sure to rename it as your name. Upload it on the drive and share the drive link with them. Not everyone will first download your resume and open it. 4. Got huge help from?Prof. Manpreet Singh Bajwa. if you have any doubts regarding college, internships or anything, you can have a session with him. 5. Lastly, Be Persistent #Internship #Networking #ProfessionalDevelopment #Mentorship #CareerTips
