From self sabotage to self advocacy – excellent myth-busting and top tips from the team at Golden Resources, Emily Golden, MCC and Julie Ketover, JD, PCC including how to avoid the trap of the NPT (non promotable task). The questions were coming thick and fast from Level 20 members attending the webinar, who learned to: - Think of self advocacy as visibility – it’s not about you it’s about the work you do? - Focus on service -?people need and will benefit from your work and your ideas.? - Think about telling the whole truth – giving credit to others but not yourself is a lie of omission. Self promotion tells a more complete truth. And if you find yourself being assigned the ‘non promotable tasks’ at work, (office scribe, planning the office party), ‘just because you can, does not mean you should.’ Masses more for members to benefit from, make sure you watch to the q&a. #womeninprivateequity #professionaldeveopment

In honor of our 8th birthday, 8 ways our company is different now than it was then. 1) Our elevator pitch is simpler: we help Chambers of Commerce build A+ advocacy programs through 1:1 consulting and our signature online Advocacy Framework program. 2) We now have 3 employees, Brian Francis, Brittany Burton, Sarah Prencipe 3) We now work outside of North Carolina 4) Our founder's hair is now grey 5) We have systems in place for all aspects of our client experience 6) The owner equity line on our balance sheet no longer starts with a minus sign (and we understand how bad it was that it did!) 7) We set concrete goals and measure our success against them 8) We use to be called Francis Consulting Services
