Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) is a way to repair and rehabilitate a road. FDR is the process of pulverizing and blending all layers of existing asphalt pavement, as well as part or all of the underlying base materials to provide a homogenous material upon which to place a surface course. This process is preferable over the typical remove-and-replace method for many reasons. It's cost effective. It utilizes materials that are already there and blends them up to create one, homogenous surface. It's time effective. Instead of the lengthy process to resurface a road, this can cut down the job from weeks to days. It's eco-friendly. There is a massive reduction in materials used and equipment needed which results in a positive outcome to the environmental impact these projects have.
