I've been giving a lot of thought to how we compete with the pricing from Chinese supplied battery systems. The reasons China can deliver products so cheaply are varied. One of the structural reasons is that China has successfully built entire vertically integrated supply chains around battery supply. The advantage of this strategy is massive. I actually think Texas and, in particular, Houston has the potential for this kind of integrated supply chain system. It's unlikely we will take the same government driven path to this system but I see it happening over time. The Houston region has all the necessary ingredients to compete strategically for a number of different industrial product categories, including batteries. I f'ing love Houston! Is this something that you believe will happen within the next 3 years?
Mush Khan, your vision for Houston as a hub for integrated supply chain systems in battery manufacturing is both inspiring and realistic. The strategic advantage of vertical integration that China leverages is indeed significant, but Houston's potential to develop a similar ecosystem is promising. With its robust industrial infrastructure, skilled workforce, and innovative spirit, Houston is well-positioned to become a key player in this space. While our path might differ from China's, the unique strengths of the region can drive substantial growth and competitiveness in the battery industry. Excited to see how this vision unfolds! Keep championing Houston's potential!
