I made someone cry at work and I didn't feel bad about it. I felt I was doing the right thing. I was stopping someone from making an error. My manager heard about it, and pulled me into his office asking me what happened. I explained the situation and how I stopped her from making a mistake that could impact product safety. I thought he'd be proud of me, but instead I got a coaching moment and he was so disappointed. How you communicate is just as important, if not more important, than what it is you are communicating. That lesson was profound and I carry it with me. Name the number of times someone cried because of something you said at work. #career #recruiting #hiring #OpenToWork #leadership #growth #lesson #tips

I made someone cry at work. In the moment, I didn't feel bad. I felt I was doing the right thing. I was stopping someone from making an error. I thought my behavior was justified. My manager heard about it, and pulled me into his office asking me what happened. I explained the situation and how I stopped her from making a mistake. I thought he'd be proud of me. But instead he was disappointed. He said "the how" is just as important as what you accomplish. That lesson was profound and I've taken it into every role and situation that I've been in since. Did you ever make someone cry at work? Have you ever cried at work? #career #recruiting #hiring #OpenToWork #leadership #growth #lesson #tips

What do you prioritize in a job search? With many of us (myself included) #opentowork due to widespread layoffs and role eliminations, it’s a good time to recalibrate your priorities in finding a role that brings you fulfillment. Tracy Brower, PhD, offers actionable tips in her recent Forbes article - ?? ?????????????? ??????: Look for a workplace culture that aligns with your personal preferences and values. ?? ????????????????????: Take the time to get to know prospective team members. Ask about their work style and what they value about the organization. ?? ????????????: Seek roles that challenge you. Aim for positions where you're “70% ready”, leaving room to grow and develop. ????????????????????????: Leadership matters. Find leaders who inspire and support you. ?? ??????????????????: Your happiness is influenced by the overlap between what you love to do and what you have to do. ?? ????????????: Look for opportunities where you can make a meaningful contribution. This really resonates with me - being part of an organization I believe in is a top priority in my search! Ready to find a job that brings you joy? ? ???????????????????? ???? ???? ???????? ???? ???????????? ?????????????????????????? ? As the Director of Operations at Bshows Entertainment, I had the privilege of leading a diverse, multi-disciplinary team and overseeing all aspects of human resources, operations, and event management. During my 10+ years with the company, I learned that success is not only about achieving business goals but also about the people behind those goals. My leadership approach has always been rooted in kindness, empathy, and understanding—working to bring out the best in each person I lead. One of my proudest achievements was building a team of over 90 employees across multiple states and fostering an environment of growth and collaboration. I spearheaded HR strategies, from recruitment to employee development, that directly improved engagement and performance. By treating each team member with respect and care, we were able to exceed expectations and drive the company’s success. Now, I am actively seeking new opportunities where I can apply these same principles. I am based in Davenport, Florida, and am looking for a 100% remote role that will allow me to continue my work as a leader who values both the people and the results. If you're looking for someone who brings an exceptional and human-centered approach to leadership, I’d love to connect! You can find more details in my resume, and I look forward to discussing how I can bring value to your team. #OpenToWork #Leadership #TeamManagement #HumanResources #RemoteWork #Opportunity #GrowthMindset #OperationsManagement #KindLeadership

Investing in your team's growth and development not only enhances their skills but also fosters a sense of loyalty and commitment. Do you spend time hiring someone for a position only to have them leave shortly after; or worse, they stay and aren't productive? Did you establish clear roles and expectations for the job before hiring them? As a leader it is your job to provide clear roles and expectations to your team. It is also your job to listen to the expectations they have of you. Don't be in such a rush to fill a position that you get the wrong people and have to look again. If you clearly define the role and incorporate your expectations into the hiring process, you'll get the best person sooner. And if you're hiring for a brand new role, periodically meet with the person you hire to adjust the duties based on feedback from them. Adjusting duties and being willing to adapt, create a more efficient workforce. Go get the good today! #GoGetTheGoodToday #GGTGT

Ever wondered why hiring managers want candidates with 3+ years in a role and ideally 5+ years within a company? ?????? As a hiring manager myself, I understand the pain of constant turnover. We all want to hire people who will stay long-term. However, I question whether excluding the so-called ''job hoppers'' is the right approach. Instead of boxing out great external talent with the 'wrong' number of years in the role, the goal is to hire the right people and create an environment where people want to stay and grow long-term. So how do we increase retention, even among perceived "job hoppers"? I've found success by: - Truly listening to my team's needs and being their advocate - Providing growth, development and stretch opportunities - Promoting work-life balance and fair compensation - Creating an engaging culture where people feel valued It's a juggling act, ensuring I meet the needs of my team while also delivering for customers. But it's worth the effort when your turnover drops and you retain top talent. ?? #EmployeeRetention #Leadership #InvestInYourTeam ?? if you agree with this ?? Repost for your network to see this ??
