?? We need your support! How willing are you to use bidirectional charging at work? ?? Our MAHLE New Ventures Portfolio Startup MAHLE chargeBIG and the Fraunhofer Institute are conducting a research #survey in cooperation with the Universit?t Duisburg-Essen. As part of the joint research project "BiFlex-Industrie" on #bidirectional charging, #chargeBIG invites all #emobility enthusiasts to take part in a 15-minute online survey. The survey analyses the readiness for bidirectional charging at the #workplace. Knowledge of bidirectional charging is not required. The only requirement for participation is that you predominantly drive to work in a car. It does not matter which vehicle is currently used for the journey to work. The survey runs until ?? 15 May. By taking part, you are supporting the research project and promoting #electromobility and the #charging infrastructure at your company's location. ? You can find the link to the survey here: https://lnkd.in/eNGtcGvY On behalf of the entire project consortium, thank you in advance for your participation! #MAHLENewVentures #Weboostfuturebusiness #innovation #startup #chargeBIG #bidirectional #charging #survey #fraunhofer #uniduisburg

Addionics, an Israeli #batterytechnology startup, has secured $39 million from investors including General Motors and launched a new venture capital arm to help commercialize its copper and aluminum electrodes for electric vehicle batteries, it announced on Thursday. GM Ventures is co-leading the B Series fundraising round alongside Israeli IT #startupfirm Deep Insight. Swedish truck producer Scania, owned by Volkswagen, opens a new tab. Traton, which opens in a separate tab, also participated in the #funding round. In addition to investing in Addionics, GM and Scania are possible #consumers for the company's porous, three-dimensional copper and aluminum electrode battery materials, which utilize 60% less material, including copper. Addionics claims the electrodes, which resemble sheer silk scarves when held up to the light, allow faster charging and increase EV range by 30%. It predicts savings for #automakers of up to $7.50 per kilowatt hour. "Addionics' present collector design exhibits potential for facilitating enhanced #batteryperformance at a reduced expense," Anirvan Coomer, managing director of GM Ventures, stated in a release. "We are eager to support the company's growth and look forward to continuing to explore opportunities to collaborate in the future." This year, Addionics said that it would build a $400 million facility in the United States to produce copper anodes for #electricvehicle batteries beginning in 2027, with the goal of producing enough to power one million EVs annually. Moshiel Biton, CEO of Addionics, stated that the business will begin providing #batterycells to automakers for testing in late 2024, and that it is on schedule to provide product at scale by 2027 or 2028. He stated that the company has collaborated with or spoken with nearly every major carmaker in Europe, Japan, and the United States. "Legacy automakers are losing money building EVs," Biton claimed. "Any technology that allows them to reduce cost and improve performance, that's the holy grail." https://lnkd.in/fzpnPPW #GM #Addionics #EV #ElectricVehicles #BatteryTechnology #Investment #CleanEnergy #ClimateTech #Startup #Innovation #Sustainability #funding #BatteryMaterials #SustainableEnergy #CleanTech #AutomotiveTech #ElectricFuture #GreenEnergy #TechFunding?#AutomotiveIndustry Addionics General Motors Volkswagen TRATON GROUP

This week, the startup teams of the current Batch 6 of our accelerator program had the opportunity to participate in what has become a tradition in the program: a guided tour of the?KNIPEX factory. The medium-sized company from the Circular Valley region is the world market leader for high-quality pliers and at the same time a family-run business in its fourth generation. During the tour, we gathered many interesting insights into the company, whose products some of the participants use themselves: For example, it's fascinating to learn that there are more than 50 different steps involved in making a pair of pliers. The group was amazed at the dedication to perfect quality they witnessed in each of these steps. Despite increasing automation and the use of modern machinery, the number of workers is increasing due to the growth of the company. In addition, many steps cannot be performed by robots. And because it's a challenge to find skilled workers, the company places a high value on employee training. Thanks to Ralf Putsch, Barbara Meimeth and the Knipex team for the hospitality, the valuable insights and the fantastic conversations. Entroview Raises $1.6M to Revolutionize Battery Diagnostics for Gigafactories and Automotive Companies — PRBuzz.co — The #Seed #Round was #Led by #AFI Ventures and Rethink Ventures PARIS, #June #4 #2024 Entroview, a pioneering #deeptech #startup specializing in #battery #software diagnostics, announces #today that they raised $1.6M to revolutionize battery diagnostics for gigafactories and #automotive companies. The seed round was led by AFI Ventures - the early-stage #impact #arm of Ventech, and Rethink Ventures, and marks a significant #milestone in the company's #mission to #transform the #Electric #Vehicle #landscape with #advanced diagnostic software #solutions The #funding will be #used to expand its team, further develop its software, and scale its operations to meet the growing demand for advanced battery diagnostics solutions. Entroview was also named a finalist in the Grand Prix ACF AutoTech contest, which is judged by some of the most prestigious executives in the automotive industry in France. The global battery market is set to reach $400 billion by 2030, driven by the construction of numerous gigafactories. Batteries are key to the EV industry and comprise 30%-50% of the vehicle's cost; however, batteries are still experiencing significant inefficiencies. This results in substantial material losses and unpredictable lifespans, posing challenges to the second-hand EV market and battery second-life applications. Entroview provides deep insight on the internal state of batteries in real-time and provides a unique edge that goes beyond data analysis alone. With this insight, OEMs and cell producers can make informed decisions and drive innovation in battery management. Entroview provides physics-based software solutions that diagnoses batteries through the entire value chain with applications already tested by top gigafactories and automotive companies across Europe. "We are impressed by Entroview's unique approach of using patented entropy method analysis for batteries," stated Jens-Philipp Klein, Co-Founder & General Partner at Rethink Ventures. "Applied in battery production, Entroview has the potential to significantly reduce production scrap and speed up end-of-line inspection, raising significant economic and sustainability benefits for gigafactories." The solution provides users with insightful diagnostics, including: Charles Fourault, Partner at AFI Ventures, added: "We are very pleased to support the entire Entroview team in this seed funding round. In a very short time, Entroview has successfully secured numerous POC

?? “There are many ways of building your #startup, and?there is no “right way”. It is a mix of everything with moderation and a lot of common sense. Find that small group of people who have a problem and you can help, they will help you build everything.” This is one key ?? takeaway from Stefan Chira, co-founder of KOTYS Tech, after his experience in the Rubik Scale to USA Accelerator. Kotys Tech began as a precision agriculture startup in Romania, focused on helping small farmers reduce the use of nutrients, pesticides, and water. Now, their journey continues in the USA, where they currently focus on lawn care companies, helping them achieve the same goals.
