Forbes Magazine: Frankly, the move to Schedule III could have the effect of rendering our current adult-use marijuana system null and void, and could force all such state-licensed marijuana sector operators to go back to a medical marijuana licensing system and scheme (ideally with a 'severe pain' catchall in each state, which is tantamount to quasi-adult use anyway, and which lowers the presently prohibitive and industry-killing excessive sin taxes on such products in the adult use marketplace, and allows for higher dose cannabis products – but that is another story for another day). If these existing marijuana sector operators even want a chance to be compliant with the requirements of operating a Schedule III compound business, they will necessarily have to operate under the existing Schedule III medical supply chain rules and regulations. Although recreational is legal where can you purchase cannabis? And where will you be able to purchase Cannabis in a actual store? September 7 is the date for rollouts in the medical dispensaries first. They already have an infrastructure and compliance with their buildings set up. Those medicinal dispensaries are given the first opportunity for patrons to purchase recreational marijuana. The products that they will be able to offer our products that are grown from seed to sale directly in the state of Ohio. Make sure to pay attention to the dispensaries information lines to find out when you can purchase directly but September 7 is the date that has been slated. Interesting development during a political year. Implications: + Medical use Marijuana / Cannabis could be approved nationally + Cannabis / THC / Hemp beverages could be more readily available + Cannabis Bev could be incremental or cannibalize beer / wine / spirits + The stigma associated with Cannabis could be reduced + Snack food consumption could increase (ie the "munchies" effect) Note: The reclassification of Marijuana does not immediately legalize recreational use. That depends on White House Office of Management & Budget review and public comments.
