This is an excellent example of how a true partnership can drive not only cost improvements but also productivity gains. In todays world a partnership is often one sided and we really appreciate when we can truly partner. Partnerships like this can deliver much more than the “cheapest” price.

Got a chance to connect with a great fellow from NVEnergy last week University of Nevada-Las Vegas. The number of data centers in and going up in Las Vegas was a big surprise. The amount of power being sent to those data centers was an even bigger surprise. 3 Sustainability thoughts came to mind: 1. Water is going into cooling - considering its proximity to limited sources of water that are used up river for farming and locally for population\growth. 2. Power from NatGas vs Coal vs Solar & Hydro - 56% - 6% -37% (yes they're off by 1% - https://lnkd.in/gyeHxmR3) 3. Very interesting concept, but is this not a perpetual motion machine? The pump connects two fluid sources at different elevations, then maintains a closed loop between these two. That is, without a difference in static pressure across all points of the system. But at some point, if you must transport water, these loops must open and allow a pressure gradient to form because this is how fluids move from one point to another. De Vinci's pump explains it: https://lnkd.in/dzP8x3qQ In such a pump, if you must draw water for use from the elevated tower, the water level in the tower will go down, therefore there will less force for the wheel to power the Archimedes screw and eventually the whole mechanism stops working until you impart an external energy source to bring the water level in the tower up again. I would love to learn more about this design, it is very intriguing!
