These days I am thoroughly mapping the entire VORNICA? business ecosystem to see where we need more PEOPLE and where we need AI TOOLS to boost our impact across Europe and to accelerate the accomplishment of our mission: to triple the number of women CEOs in Europe by 2030. Here is what I am noticing. Without #strategicthinking we are truly and definitely ... lost (trying to stay polite here ??). What I notice most often when I talk to consultants of any kind is their overwhelming #operational thinking. Most people are so eager to act and deep in operations that they can't get their heads out of their... backs (trying really hard to stay polite here ??) not even for a few seconds to take a wider, strategic perspective of the whole process (God forbid of the whole business). They can't do this even if someone held a gun to their heads. This makes it almost impossible to have a meaningful strategic conversation with such consultants. And this GUARANTEES that 90% of the time and money that will be invested into most AI implementation projects within the next 3 years will be thrown down the drain. People who only see, nurture, and care for parts can never really serve the system. And when you are not able to serve the system... are you really useful? I am sitting with all of these questions as I am preparing to take VORNICA, a baby born only 2 years ago, into the AI era. It's like taking your 2 years old to the village ball to show her to everyone who is looking for a ready-made bride... Freaking scary - for VORNICA and for me alike ?? So, maybe it's ok that certain things take time. Maybe it's ok to be strategic before being blindly operational. Maybe it's ok to walk before we run. It doesn't make the whole process any easier, though.
